My mum advised me to always maintain a good relationship with my daughters-in-law, also sons-in-law, never ever take sides, so if marriages break down over time, good relationships with grandchildren are maintained. She was right.

Set guidelines and rules with consequences and then make sure you follow through with rewards or punishment and make sure you and your partner are on the same page so you have consistency.

Have a good bed time routine. Children in bed by 7.30 pm every night. Gives you time with your partner then , perfect. Must do.
