Mattel has just released its latest innovation, Lil’ Gleemerz, which is tipped to be this year’s hottest ‘must-have’ toy – and also possibly the cutest!

Short for ‘little gleaming lemur’, Lil’ Gleemerz is a limited edition interactive light-up toy with an emphasis on fun and engagement – promising to brighten the lives of children across Australia.

True to its ‘small but big on fun’ messaging, Lil’ Gleemerz measure just 15.24cm high with a 30cm fluffy tail and come in a range of colours/models including teal (Amiglow), pink (Adorbrite) and purple (Loomur). Playing on the lemur-likeness, they have wide eyes, cute ears and a bushy tail to match.

Lil’ Gleemerz has four interactive zones which help children play and communicate with the toy.
Kids can pat or tap the Lil’ Gleemerz on the back or front of its head, press its nose, or squeeze the end of its tail to set it to one of its three modes: Hangout, Light Play, and Games.

With over 100 + reactions and the capacity to tell knock-knock jokes, answer yes or no questions, light up to the beat of music and sounds around it, and play games, this product is the perfect companion for kids aged five and above. And to top it off, due to its size and portability, Lil’ Gleemerz can go anywhere you do, making them the perfect toy to keep children entertained for long trips and travel over the Christmas break.

Jacinta Whitehead, Marketing Director for Mattel, said that based on the overwhelming popularity and demand for the range in the US, she anticipates Lil’ Gleemerz will sell out quickly in Australia being the hottest new gift for Christmas.

“As with any hot toy, there are only so many Lil’ Gleemerz available for purchase across Australia and New Zealand, so people will need to get in quick while stocks last,” she adds.

  • As well as the usual love of toys that talk, my daughter has an explicable fondness for lemurs, so this would be a perfect present for her this Christmas!
