  • A strict and predictable routine, with stories cuddles to help enter sweet dreams. This is what avoids the tantrums and screams.

  • I let him play the Wii Fit for half an hour. It tires him out so much some nights I have to carry him to bed ;)

  • My secret to getting my children to bed at night is to have wind down activities that do not involve anything electronic like TV’s and iPads for a while before bed. A bedtime routine with a warm bath also helps to get their little peepers shut.

  • In my household we have a routine for my kid to go to bed at 8 30 pm. She is aware of that since she was a baby and she starts getting ready at 8 when she has shower and brushing her teeth. Once in bed there’s no problem falling asleep because of the long day at school and after school activities.

  • A BATH A STORY AND OUR GOODNIGHT SLEEP TIGHT SONG WORKED FOR 5 KIDS WITH NO PROBLEMS

  • Story time and a sat routine,
    It works like a dream!

  • When you follow a strict schedule, the kids know exactly when to go to bed! In our home we have a chart that shows when the little ones need to brush their teeth, wear their PJs and head off to bed!

  • Do the same thing every night! Routine is a kids best friend!

  • Dim lights and quiet voices,
    Always read relaxing choices.
    Fresh pjs, scented candle burns,
    Solid routine brings sleepy returns!

  • 1/ Relaxing bath to wind down. 2/ ABC for Kids, Jimmy Giggle and Hoot do the bed time wind down. 3/ Into bed, story time and a quiet talk with Mum or Dad. Keep the routine the same and the kids know. Older kids skip step 2.

  • Relaxing bathtime, comfortable clothes (Petit Bamboo – perfect) , family story time, room at correct temperature, night light, relaxing music…In theory it should work…but not always.

  • There’s a trick?! We’ve tried everything. Master2 has not yet gone to sleep before 9pm. He didn’t sleep more than 45 mins right from birth. His father didn’t sleep through until he was seven!! Paediatric Neurologist said, “Oh dear. Nothing wrong with him. Just doesn’t sleep much! We do dar, quiet, no technology, routine, teddy with ocean sounds and stories. Fail! Now he has a 12 week old brother who is the same! so for..patience!

  • Reading a book always gets him in bed, it’s his favourite thing to do before he rests his weary head!

  • Lie down in bed with them. They’re happy to be in bed while Mumsy is there to cuddle them. I normally fall asleep first and when I wake up after a short nap, they are asleep too lol.

  • A routine including a story, buy also winding down and lavender oil on the pillow.

  • My daughter loves cuddling with us watching a bit of tv before bed, she tends to fall asleep slowly then I pop her in bed with a nursery rhyme book and sing it to her

  • We always follow a routine,
Ready for when it’s time to sleep and dream,
    Dinner, bath and then stories,
    Makes bedtime a victory!

  • The three T’s, teeth, toilet, time (quiet time).
All this after dinner and bath time.
    Routine is your friend.
Make the rules and don’t bend.
    Warm milk is soothing
    If trouble is brewing.

  • Bath and tickles – they are tired out by the time bedtime comes and I make a point of making sure we all go to bed happy.

  • My secret is I take them for a play in the park after dinner, they come back so exhausted they want to go to bed.
