Could this be a taste of what the next Coles Little Shop promotion will look like?

Coles have already confirmed they will launch a second mini-collectables series will they follow the same path as this NZ store?

New World supermarkets over in New Zealand, who also ran the Little Shop collectables series followed up their miniature series back in 2015 with the Little Kitchen collection.

Will Coles Australia do the same?

Are you keen for another round?

  • I wonder if the companies behind the products that are used in the little shops pay Coles to be included as its extra advertising for them.

  • I am looking forward to the next release. Although I only get them with my shopping, I don’t buy or swap. I didn’t really even collect them, but still enjoyed getting them

  • I know some families love them for their kids but not for my family.

  • my son is 12, and has autism. He loves the mini shops and shopping to see which one we get. He would love them to bring out another set. esp with sakatas, ktimes and hotdogs. they’d be so cute. He has a shop and has set them up with all the other play food he has. He has an amazing imagination.

  • Targeting children to encourage more shopping in their store by producing more plastic collectables is hitting below the belt in my opinion. In one way cutting out plastics but introducing more plastics for kids to collect does this not go against the plastic saga, not ok in my opinion.

  • I’m neutral – my daughter likes them, but we made no effort to get a set.

  • How cool! I’d love to get the the little shelf in the picture to store mine! My daughter loved collecting her first set.

  • I hope they make them bigger.. my 6yr old son who has autism put the vegiemite one in his mouth ???????? They went quickly in the bin!
They should make them bigger because special needs kids love to collect things too. Should we be scared that they will put the next round in their mouths?
Coles reply to my fb message was “they are recommended for ages 3+”.. Our kids are 3+ and like any other kid love to collect the Woolworths collections and whatever else is the latest thing.
Could I please ask that anyone who cares fb message Coles and ask them to make the minis a still small but not chokeable size please? It’s not fair that some of our kids should miss out on their next round due to their thoughtlessness but I don’t want a special needs parent or parent of a age 3+ child to lose a child to choking.
If they get enough messages they might realise there is a problem.

  • Love the little shoppers items – got the while set but didn’t get a folder (wish I could get one but I can’t afford to pay $60 or more they asking on eBay) as they sold out instantly on day 1 store told me & I can only shop fortnightly as I am a disabled pensioner and my nearest Coles store is 100km away so I shop when I see my Dr or specialists which I arrange for on my pension day – I never was lucky enough to find a red hand either

  • Hurry up for round 2! I think I enjoyed it more than the kids!

  • I hate how this became a little money making exercise for some. I love how it bought some communities together and engaged children. But I agree that they have to allow us some time to get over this last experience. Quite a few people made some excessive shopping trips to make the minimum shopping requirements.

  • Love the coles little shopkins. I wish people just exchanged them instead of trying to get a quick $$$$

  • It has been hugely successful but I think there needs to be time between them to build the excitement.

  • Nice. Would be good when they wait for a bit though, otherwise it’s not as special.

  • Looks good. I hope they get a lot more merchandise in this time round.

  • I can remember prior to the Coles Supermarkets, there was Coles New World which sold a variety of products including lollies, haberdashery, and I think they may have sold childrens’ underwear too. Thedre was one on Port Road, Hindmarsh a suburb of Adelaide where my Mum took my Grandma shopping occasionally
