  • I am amazed that there is a market for SO many expensive brands like this. And more keep coming.

  • It may be new and delicious but I honestly couldn’t spend that much on an ice-cream and not feel guilty for wasting so much. Yes, it’s an indulgence but I’d rather spend my money on healthy food for my family than spending it on a luxury item that won’t last very long. Thank you but no

  • I’ve never heard of Messina icecream. But I agree with a lot of the others that the price is a little too much for a tub of icecream. I could spring for $30 for a cake for a special occasion depending on how big it is. If I have to buy two then it becomes too expensive again.

  • There’s always room for a new ice cream brand! Admittedly this is a bit pricey, but it sounds delicious and I’m willing to pay for quality when it comes to treats. I hope that chocolate cake will be available somewhere near me, because it sounds particularly delicious and tempting. Yum yum!

  • I would love the try the ice-cream range as we are connoisseurs and don’t just buy boring stuff, however, that is waaaay too expensive for a little tub of ice-cream. They’re going to have to do better than that to make it a success. That’s even more expensive than Ben & Jerry’s and they are expensive enough.

  • This is fantastic for all the people who can afford the hefty price tag of this under 500mL tub of ice cream. I do enjoy a Messina Gelato but I am much happier going on an adventure with the family and visiting the store as a treat. Im sure they will sell well in Wollies.

  • I do love to eat ice cream and I do love to try different brands of ice cream. The tiramisu gelato with gelato syrup sounds so appealing and is my first choice. I will wait for the ice cream brand to pop up on special before trying it out on the taste buds.

  • Are they kidding? $14 for tub of ice cream! P-L-E-A-S-E!!! With families already struggling to put food on the table they’re certainly not going to spend $14 on ice cream. Time to get realistic Messina.

    • Yes, it is quite an amount of money for only a small container of 475ml, you’re better off making some yourself. Besides this I can’t say the ingredients appeals to me. Four of us eat vegetarian (it has gelatine) and whilst one of us is also Gluten free and another one of my kids is on a diary free diet, so it’s not suitable for us

  • Omg all flavours look so yum! I have to try it.

    • I do like the range of flavours in this gelato ice cream and the different flavour combinations. Tiramisu is the most appealing flavour, followed closely by the Pistachio Praline Gelato. The cake flavour combinations also sound quite appealing and the coconut raspberry cake is the most appealing in the cake range.

  • These ice creams look very yummy but at $14 for a tub that’s less than 500grams is too expensive and no way on earth would I pay that for ice cream no matter how nice or decadent they look. Just too expensive.

  • This looks like a delicious gooey treat, my mouth is watering. The iced cocoa one looks amazing and something i would really love to try. To be honest all of the flavours look delicious and i would be keen to try them all. Who doesn’t love a bit of indulgent very now and then.

  • For the gelato ice creams they use a beef gelatine that is halal and kosher.
The halal status of gelato lies on the ingredients used in its preparation. In its simplest form, gelato consists of milk, cream, sugar, and natural flavourings – in some traditional recipes, egg yolks are added too. These base ingredients are generally considered halal.
However gelatine is not suitable for vegetarians or vegans.

  • Oh I need that tiramisu flavour gelato asap!! I hope that will be available round me. The tubs are very fun, love the art work on them. I wouldn’t have thought pistachio would be such a popular flavour that it would be guaranteed stock. I guess I’ve been missing out on a good flavour. The cakes look very nice, too.
