  • Yes ChiWren, we always likes the Ergo pouches too ! In fact I still use one for my 12 year old with Down syndrome as she doesn’t tolerate blankets much and always gets too cold in the winter ! I saw on their website they even sell some products for adults

  • I had this issue for a couple of years with my child. She did grow out of it but I totally know how you feel. I tried everything and the only thing that worked for me was moving her from a single bed to a double bed. I tried the night lights, more bedding, warmer clothes, white noise, you name it. Good luck

  • Love the tip on a toddler training clock! We are about to transition to a big boy bed and that sounds like a great tool to use!
We use ErgoPouch sleep bags and find he stays snuggly through the night, even on these very cold nights.
Our toddler has a set routine ending with books we read together, a kiss and a cuddle, then off to sleep.

  • Another thing that impacted the sleep especially by my youngest is that she didn’t tolerate blankets and often became too cold. I really had to make sure (especially in the winter) that she was wearing a good warm pj’s and socks, singlet added and a good sleeping tog.
She also had a lot of chest infections and were referred by the ENT to the Sleep clinic and after atonsillitis and her sleep improved somewhat after a Tonsillectomy and Adenoidectomy

  • Another one I find helpful is having a toddler training clock in the room. You can set the times for sleeping and waking. The clock is blue during the night and yellow during the day and you can point out to your child “the clock is blue, it’s time to sleep”

  • As well as having a consistent night time routine, we found having a big burst of play before dinner really gets that last bit of energy out of our toddler and leads to an easier nightly routine. We have a loungey play set and usually set up an obstacle course or do an activity that involves running.

  • Personally I found that a clear and structured bed time routine is helpful. Make sure your child has plenty of physical activity during the day and then start winding down about an hour before bed (no more jumping or wresting, no screen time etc). A bath before bed is always helpful (I often add Epsom salt and some lavender oil), read a book in bed and sing some quiet songs together.
Also make sure the room is dark and cool (not too cold and not too hot).
When she wakes during the night I would keep interactions short
