  • As tempting as it might be, don’t linger. Let the teens do their thing.

  • Have a think back to when you were a teen, and the things you and your friends got up to. This may help you plan what to expect. You didn’t provide an age of your teen but Keep in mind that it’s illegal to provide alcohol to anyone aged under 18, and that you are responsible if anyone under 18 consumes alcohol. It could be fun to hire a DJ and have friends party away if you have the space, or there is the option to hire out a venue.

  • Agree. Invite only no social media

  • I remember giving my daughter a 16th Birthday Party she invited around 15 close friends but by the end of the night I would say 40 people were there I have no idea where they all came from Never again

  • Make sure it’s not advertised on social media or you may have lots of uninvited guests.

  • Be across the kids who have been invited and ensure you can handle the numbers.
Don’t try and go too big or it may get a bit expensive and overwhelming.

  • You could play Limbo ,or musical teenage chairs .

  • Great advice! There really interesting comments on this!

  • Would love to hear how you went?

  • Make certain it is an invite only party. Generally with music happening they keep themselves entertained. Be there to supervise but allow them to have fun.

  • there are some good comments here

  • Hope all went well at the party

  • just keeping them busy with lots of food and nibbles (chips, maybe a bbq)

  • Did you end up using any of the ideas below?

  • What did you end up doing for the party?

  • Kids Love a Good Pool Party :)

  • Movies and popcorn or pool party

  • What did you end up doing?

  • PlayStation for the boys, Wii for the girls . . . gaming seemed to be preferred at our parties.

  • Lots of supervision, maybe ask a few mums your friends with to help keep an eye and keep you company
