Induction will always be more painful than natural birth. An epidural is a good idea.

I was induced using a drip. Contractions started pretty much straight away. The only thing I noticed was that other drugs such as gas and pethidine didn’t seem to have any effect while I had the drip. I hope all went well with your birth.

I have been induced 2 out of 3 times. With my first and with my last. It all depends on your hospital and obstetrician as to how they go about it.

I was induced Both times using gel about 7pm, first time my waters broke on their own the following morning and the second time they were broken the following morning.

Induction can go either way. If your body is ready it will work for you as was the case with my first. Second time I was induced at 37+5 and my body just was not ready. After having my waters broken contraction started and stuck around for about 3 hours then just stopped which resulted in having a drip put in to increase contractions.

Clothes… Wear something comfortable. Trackpants/tshirt… But things you don’t mind if they get ruined. Take a dressing gown if you choose to active labour do you can walk the corridors etc.

Snacks definately. Chewing gum, water bottle, chocolate and lollies ????

Ask for epidural straight up. ;( mine was horrible. If i knew I could have asked for an epidural earlier on or even before, I would have.

The hospital should have a list of what to bring. Inductions are different for everyone – some do not work and some work very fast

No real answers. I was induced twice but didn’t have time for snacks etc as both my labours were very quick

I was induced twice and we’re both good experiences. there are different ways to be induced both of mine were serotonin drips and they were bring on hard andfast. I wish I’d been prepared but both were early and had nothing with me at the hospital (both for baby health). Try and rest day before and maybe take cards to play. I was not allowed snacks except ice incase needing a cesar. Goodluck.

I am 21 weeks pregnant & have been told that my baby is on the larger end of the scale, I am so nervous & worried about her being too big. Maybe I will talk to my midwife about being inducted.

I got induced and i just had my bag all ready to go

just pack you bag as normal, once inductions start, labour isn’t far behind

Pack everything you need for you and your baby.
So night clothes, pads, panties old ones, toiletries, towel, games, books, snack and drinks, nursing bras, breast pads and going home outfit.
For baby pack nappies, wipes, a couple of jumpsuits, singlets, hats, bottles and formula is bottle feeding and some blankets.

snacks would be good, give you more energy! have a good rest before the induction day!
