  • Honestly I’ve paid lots of money for over the counter cold and flu tablets and for the most part have found that they don’t actually do very much.

  • They’re probably not the cheapest, but for the money, they do a great job. They’re fast acting and long acting. They’re the ones I always buy

  • I try to dose up on vitamin c and garlic and horse radish tablets before going to cold and flu tabs. I find it works a treat if I get on to it early

  • Go to the chemist not the local shops, and buy the generic option.. If they ask you for your licence you know you are getting a stronger option that should help nip it in the bud.. If not it might work but take a little longer to get rid of.. I also find some nice soothing hot tea helps.. My fav is lemon Myrtle tea..

  • Thanks for the helpful answers mums. I rarely get bad colds or flu but this seems to be the year!

  • I sometimes use a supplement – a combination of zinc and echinacea (sometimes garlic is in the mixture) to help my immune system. I haven’t got on with any medicated cold/flu tablet.

  • I use Codral cold and flu and they are effective to go to work etc and best to buy at Chemist Warehouse as the prices are good.
