Personally I’ve found the airfryer prefers the processed junk over freshly cut stuff. The fresh cut stuff just doesn’t cook as well, or takes much much longer to cook to get the same effect. I think they cook foods crunchier than an oven does.

I definitely recommend. I use mine everyday at least twice a day. The steak cooked in the air fryer taste better than the one cooked in the BBQ, and less mess.

Friends of ours have one and use it often in particular when camping. We are looking at one as we often eat fish and would like to have chips with it but I don’t want to cook in oil either so I see this as something I would use

Has anyone done donuts in these? I am in the same situation. I have never seen one in action and would love to know the results of cooking donuts in an airfryer.

I have the Phillips air fryer, and truly about the very best kitchen gadget I’ve ever had and used, It cooks nearly everything, and since we’ve had it, we hardly ever turn the oven on. It cooks faster than the oven, needs almost no preheating, and just cooks everything beautifully. Mine can easily be used 8 or more times a day, so has it’s own space on the kitchen bench. It really is an appliance that needs to sit out. I haven’t used any other brand, so I can’t speak for them, but I’m sure you won’t be disappointed with a Phillips one like mine. It now comes in a larger size, and I’d love to upgrade, but as it’s only my husband and I at home now, I can’t really justify it. My son lives on his own, and we bought him one a couple of Christmases ago, and his is always in use as well, he makes the quickest, easiest stir fries in it. Love, love, love my air fryer.

There are different airfryers on the market. Most are big enough to cook a cake. Mine is a Tefal Actifry and it has a stirring paddle. It is not for cake baking, and I use it to toast my muesli, scorch almonds, hot chips with only one tablespoon of oil.

I bought one for $99 from Aldi. Best thing I ever bought. I have made chips, roast potato, chicken wings and meatballs in it. The chips take roughly 30 minutes and is enough to feed 4 adults. Meatballs take only about 12 minutes to cook and are fat free. Big W has one that looks the same as the Aldi one for roughly the same price.

Our friends had one and it died on them twice! They said the cooking was easy.. but the disappointment of having to return it and then for it to break down second time.. they said it was a waste of money. I think each person has to try it out for themselves/their family to see if it suits them. Cheers

Hi, we bought one because we dont want to cook with oil either and ut is great for fries/larger chips and cakes and more so it is worth it. Groupon was a great site and so cheap,

I love mine. I use it a lot. I par-cook the potatoes in the microwave (whole) for about 2-3 mins then when slightly cooled I cut into wedges or chips and that way they cook in the air fryer in about 10 mins. Sweet potatoe comes out especially sweet. Things like spring rolls and nuggets (any frozen product) also come out great in the air dryer. Again I slightly precook in microwave until just defrosted. Everything comes out SO crunchy and brown. I prefer it to using my oven which heats the house up a lot (not fun in summer) but also costs so much more to have an oven on.

Glad you asked the question they seem really popular but I hate having things lying around the house not being used.

I have been wondering about these for a while. They are just to expensive to try and hope for the best.

Hubby got me one as we are trying to eat healthy, we have one that spins, love the idea but 45 mins to cook chips drove me nuts — so mine is rarely used now

I love gadgets and devices in the kitchen and love using all of them. I leave them out for ease of use.

A woman I work with owns one and said it makes the best chips and a few other things (desserts too I think). I wouldn’t own one personally as I already have a heap of applications that only come out a couple of times a year. If you have the space, why not?

Just recently I was looking at these in the shop, sound good theoretically but would like to know if they would be a worthwhile purchase as well.

ive never tried one but am intrested in finding out if they are any good.
