Have a quiz of general facts about babies and kids, I found some interesting ones about number of teeth a baby has been bleh with on record, largest baby, average number of nappies you use, youngest age for first word, average age for first giggle..can be fun Also have them wear plastic dummy rings or necklaces and they can’t say baby or bub etc, how many pieces of cotton wool on a head, guess lollies in a jar (make it gummy babies), consider getting them to write messages in a book for the mum to be We also had a high tea theme

Has the gender been revealed? If so then games around pink or blue would be fun.

Keep it simple it’s about celebrating mum and bub. All the rest of the fancy stuff and huge props that are in don’t make a shower m. They people surrounding the mum to be do.

I think Baby Showers are a great Idea as when I was pregnant with my first daughter they were not even heard of

I like going to laid back baby showers, plenty of nibbles and games, such as baby wordfind, guess the baby food flavour etc. My friend also made a nappy cake which consisted of nappies, baby clothes, ribbon, a toy, a rattle and a few other pieces…gorgeous and practical!

A high tea with some fun games is suitable for all ages.

I went to one where for fun they put water in some sterilised baby bottles and we had to see how much we could drink out of it I found it hard to suck the water. Obviously baby needs to be a strong sucker.

An afternoon. Tea with yummy homemade baked goods and tea coffee. Have some fun baby games. My sister got some plain baby clothes and fabric paints and people painted some clothes.

Baby shower bbq in the park! You can invite partners and kids and keep it simple. Or book in at a local cafe and enjoy it with just the girls.

depending on the budget, but there are companies to hire a teepee tent from that also have nice mats, rugs etc and you could put in a long low table and have a massive grazing table sitting around drinking tea, champagne etc. obviously your friend may be someone who would want all the fun baby shower games – it really depends on the personality of the mum to be.

It all depends if the gender is known.. colour schemes are great. As well as games, some games that have been played at my baby showers have been the poopy nappy, which is melting different chocolates onto the nappy and everyone has to guess it. Another game is the baby in ice.. first person to have their ice melted they call out my waters broke.. love a good game.

I find a couple of games are nice, but otherwise just use it as a nice catch up.

I love the string game. Everyone cuts off a piece of string to the length they think will fit around mummy to be’s Tummy and the one who gets closest wins

Keep it simple! Don’t try and pack too much into the day, having too much to do means less time to enjoy people’s company and makes it much more stressful

Instead of doing something for baby do a gift basket for mum

I would make a little basket for the mother, with some nice creams, maybe a book, a piece of chocolate…
