Hello!

Hi ladies, I’m just after some advice. I’m 36 weeks pregnant with my first child and recently started getting braxton hicks, but not in my belly like normal women, in my lower back (which I know is normal) amd also in my chest and neck. I’m just wondering if this is normal, or if anybody else has had the same experience?

  • I think it’s common to have them in abdomen and lower back, but haven’t heard of braxton hicks in chest and neck. Are you sure those are braxton hicks ?

  • Nope, only ever in my belly. Sounds a bit weird to have them in your neck!

  • I have only ever experience them in my belly and back never in the neck. I would get that checked out

  • I would say it must be a pressure sensation or a muscle spasm or getting tight.

  • I only had them in my belly, abdomen area, which is normal. Never in the neck or chest though. Are you sure they’re braxton hicks and not something else?

  • Have to say this is a new one for me. Interested in what others have to say on this one.

  • I have never heard of this, it sounds just like a muscle spasm to me

  • I would check with the Dr. Anything in the chest is not good! Especially during pregnancy!

  • I only ever had braxton hicks in my belly. That would be aweful in ur neck or back.

  • i had them in my chest, but im not sure about the neck, talk to your midwife or doctor just to put your mind at ease.

  • Check with your doctor but sounds like bubs pressing on some nerves that connect those areas.
