There’s someone that can come to you and do pamper parties for girls, and there are boys themes aswell! It’s super cute!

Do you have a family member or friend who has a nice, big, covered area you can use? Some parks will have covered shelters but maybe you could ask around and see if anyone has a large tent or small marquee you could borrow and set up as a just in case shelter.

Have it at home. Ask all kids and guests to wear their wet weather gear. A muddy back yard sounds like heaps of fun!

My daughters birthday is in July to! Last year we had it at an indoor pool center. It was great! We had the whole center to ourselves, we invited 14 kids, had 12 show and only paid for that (minimum 10 guests, maximum 15).

Have a look on pintrest for party theme ideas with games, food etc. You don’t need much space to have a good party at home, just ideas.

Mcdonalds is about $10 a head and most have a private party room. You won’t need to clean up or cook and you only have to pay for the kids that turn up. Pick one with an undercover play ground just in case it rains. I’ve had my daughters birthday party there and it was great.

look at the cost to hire a local community hall for the party – they do ask for a bond but usually the hire cost is affordable and you can have as many children as you like. you would need to bring all your own things and set it up and pack it away but if you are going to have it at home its really no different. good luck

I have found a number of play centres that are free. Also, having a movie day would be good too. Put a blanket over the blinds and put a movie or 2 on, some popcorn and drinks then they can go home before to so you dont have to feed them all!

A movie perhaps with one friend each on a cheap day with a sleep over that way you can go for lunch at Maccas or HJs works out a lot cheaper than trying to have lots of kids to cater for and ones that don’t turn up

It’s always a hard one choosing birthday parties. We usually do a park for a BBQ. Maybe it’s best to find some undercover barbecue areas. If you know someone who will let you have the party at their place? This year we did it at McDonald’s. cost $100 that included the food, party for 2 or 3hours. Worked out cheap for us. This year all three kids are having a combined party of going to QL. Instead of having a party we are going away. They chose camping but will see what we can afford when it gets closer,

We have a small house but we pushed all our lounge chairs to one side to make a dance floor, put on some music, chicken dance, hokey pokey, macarena etc. Add a cheap disco ball $20 from k-mart and you have a cheap disco party. We did it 6:00pm to 8:00pm. The girls were so excited to come to a night time party and it was a great success at minimal cost.

maybe ask the kids if they would like a special day out instead? get them to choose two friends and take them to the movies etc then they can have a sleep over? otherwise if they really want a party you could try a local playgroup hall. our one only cost $50 to hire with a refundable $100 deposit. it has toilets, kitchen and heaps of toys! google for private ones and also ask your local council

I’ve found hungry jacks to be fun for the kids and only costs for what the kids eat. (I was told you’re supposed to have minimum 8 kids but one year i had a party where 3 other kids turned up and it only cost me $27.)

We’ve done art and craft parties and cup cake decorating parties. Also painting t-shirts. They were always fun and finished up with simple party food and cake. Limit time to 2 hours as that is plenty of time for that age group. Good luck with it.

try just doing a normal birthday party indoors or hire a gazebo which aren’t that expensive (check gumtree around $50 for 6 hours) but have games for them to play like the old pass the parcel and in each layer pack a small knick knack so that no one misses out and have a small toy in the centre for the one who wins. Or a treasure hunt pirate party. Check at your local markets there are some stall that seel party favours for $1 for a pack of them….

Perhaps forget the party for a year and do something as a family. My kids would rather this as they know they usually get more value out of it. Otherwise select a few friends and do movies at home or set up a tent out the back and have a sleepover.

Some aquatic centres actually include supervision in the water for a set length of time. If there is an emergency they are on the spot with equipment if needed. Some have “lifeguards” on duty walking along the length of the pool on the walkway. If anybody goes in the water after the set length of time it is your responsibility.
The Aquatic Centre supplied the food (the person making the arrangements chose which set menu they had) and asked for a list of known allergies that anybody attending had. They were allowed a certain number before the prices went up. I don’t know the prices but I was told it was cheap for what was provided, especially as it included centre supervision and first aid if necessary, entry fee to centre, food and tables set up, mess cleaned up afterwards.

Maybe your kids can have a combined party together, if they don’t mind and are the same sex, and then you only need to organise one party. A pool party works even if it rains. Kids love the blow up pools if you don’t have a pool and water pistols work for boys and girls! As long as there are games I think kids don’t mind too much.
