I have an umbilical hernia and i spoke to a surgeon when i was pregnant, they did recommend waiting to have it repaired until i had finished having children. The biggest issue is that it can reopen. But id suggest speaking to your doctor and working out if it is safe for you!

I’m no Doctor/Surgeon however my son had an umbilical hernia operated on when he was around 5. It’s a very simple procedure but it does have alot of factors. The main one being how deep is the hernia. If its only just enough to look like an “outty” belly button than I would say there should be very minor risk compared to if it was a fully abnominal hernia. Talk to your doctor, but generally umbilical hernias are closest to the skin surface so I don’t believe there should be many problems.
