I read a hack that rubbing citrus peel works, but I am yet to try it.

That is one job I hate and especially every oven cleaner is so toxic smell

I tried baking powder, lemon juice and vinegar. Didn’t work as well as chemicals

I am interested in the answers to this one, this is a job I want to tackle this weekend

To this day I am still struggling with this and I try to wipe up after every use . Looks like Bicarb and vinegar is the way to go and will try this . Sometimes I might find a burnt food on the bottom and I think damn I missed it and now will be a dirty mess , so be aware of that .

Yes Bi Carb and vinegar is good to use!

Cleaning an oven can be a real pain. Regular cleaning can be the best option. And grease and grime is less baked on time and time again.
For tough hard to remove gunk. Steam the oven with a tray of water. When oven is cool enough spray with vinegar and bicarbonate and wipe over.

my mother-in-law is a clean freak and she SWEARS by those oven roasting bags. they contain all those juices from meat etc that would usually go flying around the oven and therefore burn on. after you get your oven clean, these would be worth investing in. Also makes cleaning the pan, an absolute breeze. I buy the cheap woolies brand and they work just as good as the expensive glad bags.

I recommend using a ovenproof container- oven pans casserole dishes etc. Add two cups of water with a who;le lemon- peel and all. Place in oven on low heat and steam for an hour or two, (don’t let the water evaporate even if you have to top it up) the steam generated and the citrus released should start to dissolve any grime in the oven. Turn off oven take out container and wipe round inside of oven with an old towel or similarlly abrasive cloth. If its baked on it may take several times to get it clean. I Always wear gardening gloves when i am doing this.

CLEANING YOUR OVEN – The easiest way EVER!
Begin by preheating the oven to (70C or 150F degrees (or your LOWEST setting available). While the oven is heating, put on a pot of water to boil. Once the oven has reached (150F OR 70C), TURN IT OFF and pour 1 cup of ammonia into a heat safe bowl or baking dish and place it on the top rack of the oven. Place the pot of boiling water on the bottom rack, close the oven door, and leave them both in the oven overnight.
The next morning, open the oven and remove both the bowl of ammonia and the pot of water, keep the ammonia – you’ll use it later. Remove the racks and leave the oven door open to air out for 15 minutes. Add 1-2 teaspoons of dishwashing liquid to the ammonia, along with 4 cups of warm water, and using a heavy-duty nylon scrubbing pad dipped in the ammonia mixture, begin to wipe away the softened grease and grime along the sides and bottom of the oven.
It should be a fairly easy job at this point. Wear some kitchen gloves, since ammonia can be caustic to skin. Rinse/wipe clean with a damp cloth.

Is there anything bicarb soda and vinegar cant do?!

I found a hot bath full with a large sprinkle of washing powder soaked for 2 hours. I scrubbed them with a scourer and was amazed how clean they were. As for the oven it does require loads of elbow grease and loads of bicarb soda with vinegar.

Have you tried any of the specialised oven cleaners? I think there are natural ones available
