I asked for it twice but didnt get it.
As long as she is still alive, l wouldnt dwell on it. It was done in the way they needed to save her.

This is the first I’ve heard about this. From memory, the cords of my babies were cut pretty much as soon as they were clear

I heard about this as well but I’m not sure how to measure the benefits.

Oh my goodness, there was an article here on MoMs just tge other day about this. Apparently even an extra minute attached to tge cord is hugely beneficial to newborns

No I have never heard about delayed cutting.

We had the same issue as you and the midwives were insisting the cord be cut, the obs however (although he was about 70) respected our wishes and also said that the baby would get oxygen from me while the cord was attached.

Like you, there was always so much drama (yes, four children, four dramas) that I didn’t have the chance to think about it. I’ve read some of the same studies though, and it seems like a good idea if you get the chance.

I found out after the birth of my daughter 🙁 If I ever get pregnant again it will 100% be a topic of conversation I’ll be having with midwives and Drs 🙂

I am going to bring this up with my midwife, I have never heard of this.

I don’t know much about this, but the drs do what is best for mother and baby

one of my friends wanted to do this but didn’t end up doing it. It may be worth talking to your midwife about it 🙂
