I’m a mix of both, depending on how much time I have. If I’m feeling creative and have the energy, I’ll sit down with the kids and we’ll make Easter cards together. It’s a fun activity, and they love adding their own little touches like drawings or stickers. It’s also a sweet way to make something meaningful for family and friends.
On the other hand, when life gets busy, I’ll happily buy cards. I’ve found some lovely options at Kmart and Big W, and the card packs from discount stores like The Reject Shop are usually cute and affordable. For something a bit fancier, places like Typo or Spotlight have beautiful designs, though they can be pricier.
I used to make all my own Easter cards but, unfortunately, the trend for sending/giving cards at Easter is no longer as popular as it used to be! We still make a few for family and very close friends – Spotlight have a lot of beautiful items that are great for homemade cards. Buying sheets of felt is a great and inexpensive way to adorn you cards, just cut out little shapes (eggs, rabbits, etc) and stick them on to blank cards.
We always make our cards but with saying that my kids only make a few for their grandparents etc. Its fun the kids and we spend some quality time together.
