Sandwiches are filling, and lots of fruit and veggies cut into bite sized pieces.

At home we love nuts. As alternative to nuts my kids love roasted broad beans and roasted chick pea’s. My youngest is on diary free and she loves the Nudie Coconut yoghurt (as oppose to the lactose free yoghurt, this one doesn’t contain sugar), I just put some in a small pot. I also buy Oliana Dairy free cheese for her. We also have lots of veggie chips and veggie muffins, raw veggie and a limited amount of fresh fruit. My kids also love a boiled egg in their lunchbox.

I also sent my son off with lots of fruit and vegies. I also sent a lot of yoghurt, which you could use lactose free.

we are big on dunking – batons of carrot, celery, apple, and a bought dip like hummus, tatziki, or guacamole, or even just Greek yoghurt… we love eating like this

fruit popcorn carrot sticks eggs? are they ok

oat cookies, vegies with a little tub of hummus, cut up fruit, homemade muesli bars, muffins, cheese sticks, cheese and crackers, yoghurt

As the other Mums have suggested, fresh fruits and vegetables are great. Sandwiches of course. You could make a dip and send a little tub with the vegies and/ or bread/ pita bread/ crackers. Cheese. Slices or homemade muesli bars. Dried fruit is always a winner with my daughter.

I have seen recipes online for fruit leather (like roll ups) which seem relatively easy to make but a bit time consuming.

As a Kinder Assistant i loved it when children brought fresh food in and they loved to show us all their fresh foods.

I think that fresh fruit and vegies are always the best (and easiest) to send along to Kinder 🙂 Maybe a variety of a few cut up for choice and then you could also send some plain crackers/rice cakes and yoghurt.

Lots of fruit is encouraged, I would also send my son with yoghurt squeezies, rice cakes and cheese sticks.

Finger foods are easy to manage. Small,fruits or cut up fruit, sandwiches, cheese, celery and carrot sticks, mushrooms, capsicums, broccoli, dried fruits, whatever your little one has at home. Bottled filtered water is generally the easiest or tetra pack juices. If yor want you can start together making up little lunch boxes each day and have a little picnic at home or in a park. Introduce some new foods if you want and this can be fun if you shop for these items together. Your little one will let you know what he/she likes and does not like. Sometimes your little one may like to try new things and at others, will want the same each day. Just go with the flow and enjoy the experience together..

Cut up fresh fruit and salad veggies are one option. Try baking vegan nut free cookies and fruit muffins at home for sweet treats. Rice crackers with jam, vegemite or home made relish also go down a treat with my little ones.
