Hello!

Hi ladies. Anyone have any ideas for work from home jobs that aren’t like Avon ? We are struggling with money but cannot afford daycare for me to go back to work. I am unskilled always working in retail or fast food jobs with bad hours for a mummy. Hubby already works 14 hours a day so he can’t do anymore then he already is. Any feedback would be amazing thanks :)

  • Check out airtasker. They have odd jobs listed.

  • maybe offer ironing services, pamphelts?

  • Maybe letterbox drops of pamphlets and catalogues, you could take baby with you in pram. Maybe take in people’s ironing. Or you could clean other people’s houses, bub could tag along too, you would need to keep a close eye on bub tho

  • Market research pays well for a group or one on one interview and it’s fun!

  • I am asking the same question at the moment and am exploring all my options.

  • Try having a garage sale on the weekend.

  • There’s lots of party plan type things around now. Jewellery, make up, candles even cleaning products. You basically invite people round to yours for a ‘showing’of your products. They cone around and put in orders for what they’ll like. You put the word out, these people might organise one at their house for you to do a showing. And so it goes on, word spreading, more parties etc etc

  • Market research is pretty good although not a huge earner.

  • Try doing paper deliveries? Your little one could go with you.

  • Try see if you can save money. For instance I saved heaps in one year by reviewing our house, car and health insurance. Found savings in all three while still being adequately insured. So that was a win to us.

  • I’d contact some employment agencies and see what’s on offer for working at home. Please do your research if you decide to go for those earn big $ from home schemes, most are not what they make out to be.

  • Google to see what jobs you could do fr home:)

  • I’ve been trying to think of ways myself but not having much luck

  • Why not take in some washing or do daycare urself. i did both for 3 yrs nd studied at night over internet to get my skills up. it was hard but worth it.

  • Unfortunately I don’t think there is a perfect answer but I would suggest seeing if there is anywhere you can stretch your current budget.

  • I wouldn’t take on anything that could end up costing you money, really do some research first

  • you could always take in some ironing or maybe do some housecleaning which will only take you away a few hours a day or week

  • If you’re at all crafty, you could try knitting or crocheting things and selling them on-line. Or do as a friend of mine does, and go to op shops and pick bargains up that you know you on-sell for a profit through sites like etsy and gumtree and ebay. Then you can do it in your own time, when it suits you. She also goes to local auctions (most are advertised in you Saturday paper, for auctions happening the following week) and buys nicnacs & different things that she can get for a bargain price & sell for a profit.

  • thats a tricky one good luck

  • There’s a company called Appen Butler Hill that advertise online jobs on occasion. Usually as Internet assessors, which is rating web pages for search engines. It’s repetitive work but pretty easy once you’re trained and yes they train you (paid training) if you pass their test. Second company who offers the same kind of work is called Lion bridge. I did this for a few months after my son was born. I run a web design business but coming back from maternity leave I had to regain clients so it was great to fill in my quiet time while i built my business back up. Another place to look is on the job boards and type in “work from home” but steer clear of the ones who want you to pay to start a business. There are legit jobs on there. Also try asking local businesses if they need any typing/admin work done for them, you’d need an abn and run it as a sole trader but you may just get enough to keep you going, then branch out into Virtual Assistant networks and get more work from there. Good luck, i hope it works out well. I ave now been working for myself from home for 5 years and love it :)
