I saw a hack where someone had used tea towels to wrap gifts- that’d work.

Perhaps you could use bubble wrap before the wrapping paper.

Practice – and reasonably thick paper. It’s really hard to avoid sometimes!

I always struggle with wrapping presents , and have learnt from ripping a lot of paper ! . With sharp corners, my bad habit is not realising it beforehand so good you do . I find if you use a bit more paper and wrap it so it doesn’t touch the point so that you have a bit of space around the edges , it may not rip . If it does then wrap tap over it .

I just go cray cray with the sticky tape haha

I must admit that as my girl is only 1.5 years old I don’t worry about this. However if you are worried about it, maybe wrap the presents twice? With brown paper or newspaper underneath? It’s a bit of extra work but if you’re worried about the corners, it might help.

If you’re wrapping for kids, I’m sure that they don’t care. My memories of birthdays and Christmas don’t include critiques of Santa’s or Mum’s wrapping prowess.

wrap in bubble wrap first then paper it is true. I use brown paper and draw on it too, or stick stickers on,use big texta’s looks good too

I usually put them in a box first and then wrap it, use a gift box or I place a bit of tape on the sharp parts before wrapping and then they don’t pierce through the paper

I love the ikea wrapping papers, quite thick and affordable

I can’t wrap to save my life – so boxes is the way I go (or have someone else wrap them!)

There are different quality papers, so a better quality paper would be good. Also a piece of tissue paper or other paper just placed on the corners before wrapping and don’t pull paper tight.

Sometimes I find it is best to put items with pointy edges or unusual shapes into plain boxes to make wrapping easier and it also disguises the item. If boxes aren’t an option I half also wrapped in tissue paper or for large items newspaper or butchers paper, this helps to protect the wrapping paper from sharp edges.

Thanks MoM’s, i appreciate the suggestions…I still have to decide how I’m going to wrap some jars with homemade presents inside. Not sharp, just awkward. Lol. ;

I usually use two thickness of paper or if I don’t have enough put sticky tape over the corners on the inside both methods make a big difference
