Forum How do you deal with all of the kids crying at once?

I have 3 kids under 4 and I have found myself in the stick situation where I’ve had all of them crying at once.
my older 2 where fighting over a toy and one hurt the other and then the new born is crying to.
so how do sort the situation out and where do you start?

  • Deep breath. Then if anyone is in danger or hurt, then the newborn if they are hungry, tired or need to be changed. Then the older kids. It’s hard and there’s no real answer because every situation will be different. Just breathe. It’s just a stage and it will pass

  • I only have two but suffer the same. When they cry at the same time – deep breath. Then try to calm the one you think will do it faster so then you can go on to the other one and spend more time there once the first one is calmed. Not easy I know but nothing else works for me. Even worse if I stress about it, the crying will last forever

  • I’d start with the newborn, as they understand the least. With the older kids, you might have to just let them go for ten minutes because you truly can’t deal with it all at once.
