Hello!

My daughter is now 7 months old and loves her puréed vegies. I’d like to introduce meat now but unsure of how to go about it. How should I prepare & store meat for my baby?

  • Make sure you cook meat well, with or without other veg. Purée and put in clean storage containers size of meal for day, also label and date.Same method for fruits and vegetables too. Know they are fresh and cheaper too

  • I started with good quality mince to start. It is easy to blend and it gets them used to the meat. They you can blend just about anything. Introduce one at a time though as I have heard it is best to get them used to one thing before moving to the next. Good luck

  • How did she go with meat?

  • A stick blender gives a good consistency , blend altogether with their veges.

  • Mix it with their vegies

  • Hope you found the answers you were looking for and it went well when you introduced your daughter to meat.

  • Blend it in with her vegies

  • I used to buy & portion out, then freeze, take out when needed then cook. So no left overs at that young age

  • When introducing meat to my babies I always just cut a little bit off my piece of meat and cut it into tiny pieces for them to try

  • I found the Annabel Karmel books had some great ideas for introducing meat.

  • There are two options, one is to just make up the meat with the veggies and store as normal, the other is to give her some off your plate when suitable, or make a bit extra with your tea

  • Mince or chicken are good meats to start with

  • She should be OK with mince. Mix it in with the vegetables.
