  • With a positive attitude

  • If she has a child about the same age as yours maybe ask her over for morning or afternoon tea. If the children are old enough to play together or even just make noises or laugh at each other it gives you both some relaxation time together. Don’t ask too many questions too soon or she may “shut down” and say nothing at all. It depends how well you know each other how easy it may be to get her to talk to you about an issue.

  • Ask if she needs help

  • Just be casual to ask how you are going and perhaps offer it if she mentions anything . Its mainly being available if she does want help .

  • Offer help with other things and try and engage in small talk. If you can build a rapport with her she will be more likely to open up.

  • I’d take her a home cooked meal. Give her time and a chance to open up. Offer a listening ear and any help or assistance she may need just let her know you’ll be there. With no judgement

  • I would just start off with saying hi and showing interest in her by making a little chat and then maybe ask if she’s up for a cuppa or ask if she’s ok and in need of any help.

  • Very gently. Try boosting her self esteem first, Compliment her on her dress or hair etc before striking up a non-descript conversation with her. Anxiety is tricky to deal with and most people don’t really know how the person feels at time. Tread the waters gently and don’t expect too much too soon.

  • “Are you o.k?” Is a great opening.
    In a quieter moment.

  • be available offer to help or visit
