I’ve been vegan going on 8years and love it. These days the plant based options are everywhere and supermarkets are getting larger selections in which makes it easy to substitute. I’ve recently opened up a vegan market stall for sweet and savoury and the amount of questions I get and ppl trying plant based for the first time I love it seeing their reactions to flavours etc
Are you already vegetarian? I was vegan for about 11 years and found it extremely simple. However, I wasn’t a mum then. I think if you’ve got time to prep extra at dinner time then you’ll have no problems.
At Big Mumma’s, we are secretive. For now, you won’t find our storefront. The only way you can get your hands on our awesome chicken is to get it delivered to your door. Big Mumma’s trademark recipe is multi-award winning at the Louisiana State Fair & Louisiana Chicken Farmers Association. Please visit https://bigmummasfriedchicken.com.au/ for more information
Vegan diets are so much easier these days as there are so many options and variety of foods in the supermarket to choose fro. I would suggest seeing a Dietician or letting your GP know and perhaps going for a blood test to see how your iron levels are doing.
I thi knit honestly depends if your family are also willing to try new things
I could not do it, my partner wouldn’t eat a lot of the foods
So cooking two meals wasn’t very practical but definitely is okay if you have support
We are vegetarian for ethical reasons and I would love to be vegan. I find that eating out as a vegetarian is a little easier than vegan. You also have to be aware of protein, iron, vitamin b12 and omegas and how you are getting them in your diet. If you do the research and get regular check ups with your gp you should be good to go. Also try not to make separate meals for you and the family for example if they are having sausage and mash just replace your portion with veggie sausages. Or if your making spaghetti just use veggie mince for everyone.
I wouldnt call it a “diet” more of a lifestyle change.
in saying that It will take a lot of time getting use to i think alot of research into your shopping lists before you start. Go through your pantry and see how many things that a vegan approved and start their. start small as well dont try to make all these extravagant vegan slices etc. to begin with start dont be to hard on yourself while your starting
Hi im a vegetarian but i cant take onion and garlicand find it quite challenging at times for limited food options but there is defintely lots of vegan food options in the supermarkets now and cafes !
Our family of four has one vegetarian, one pescatarian, one pescatarian+chicken and one who eats everything. It makes cooking meals for everyone’s different requirements quite tricky at times. So….you really need to work out who of your four children will be eating what and consider your husband’s wants too. A vegan diet, is like any restricted diet – you have less options so it takes more planning.
Absolutely will be as it’d be trying something new for the first time, but I’m sure once you get the hang of it and have some great go to meals you’ll be set.
A vegan diet can be easy but it can take some time, your body and your mind needs to adjust with your new lifestyle. there are many options out there that you can look into to make sure your getting all the vit and min you need for your body. i know that when i adjusted to lactose free it was tough and sometimes i eat vegan food just so i don’t have to think if there is dairy in my food. do you research and try to make healthy Vegan choices because there are so much chemicals in some vegan food which can cause more harm then good. Good Luck with it all and i suggest you speak with your Doctor as well and make then aware of your new lifestyle.
I agree with one of the other comments made. At first preparing vegan can be a little time consuming. Start with a few recipes during the week and gradually increase these. The internet has wonderful websites with recipes and ways to get you started. You will eventually find your favourite go to recipes but these will build up over time. Good luck.
