I would seek expert advice. It may be your cat will be happier in another home, or it may be he won’t be happy again until he has you all to himself

Do what is best for your family and cat – honestly I know how hard these decisions are first hand. Try a reputable animal trainer first, and if that fails, put the feelers out through good organisations that can help rehome pud x

I think the vet is the best idea as well! Our vet is great!

I’m thinking find a new home before your cat hurts the kids but speak to your vet and try other advise suggested here so you may be able to keep your pet.

I have an 18yo inside cat & 2 sons (1yo & 3yo). I had the cat long before I met my husband & she wasn’t coping with the family growing. I made her a safe space so she could get away when she needed & the kids can’t get to her. I set her up in the laundry with food, water, bed & litter tray. I put up a baby barrier that she could get through & got a feliway diffuser from the vet. She initially spent a lot of time in there and once she felt more relaxed she started to come out more, she now sleeps on the back of the couch during the day. She doesn’t seek attention from the kids, but she’s on my lap (or my husband’s) in a heart when they go to bed.

Consult your vet, and is your cat desexed? but i would see the vet before doing anything else

The vet idea is good, it may be possible to keep him

Try talking to a vet who may be able to recommend ways to have a happy home with the cat

find a new home for the cat, especially if you are worried it may hurt the children is it worth it. You may feel bad but how terrible will you feel if one of your little ones ends up with permanent scars on their little faces.
