Hello!

There are so many products out there I don’t know which one is the best to use on a newborn.

  • Use a mild, soap-free cleanser as required. Choose products that are free from fragrance, botanicals and antibacterial agents, as these can be irritating. Bubble bath may remove natural oils from the skin and is best avoided. I liked the GAIA line too

  • Puratap water and kettle bolied water for 9 months into the baby bath then gradually used GAIA body wash during toddler years. Apparently MooGoo is good for Mum and Bubs.

  • We’ve tried a few samples of baby wash and they were all amazing and didn’t do anything to his skin. My favourites are Cetaphil and Gaia. I wouldn’t buy any shampoo because the body washes are for full body including face and hair. After his bath, I always moisturise with Aveeno Baby (unscented) or Goat Lotion (scented)

  • I like the QV range but I also use coconut oil as a moisturiser.

  • I recommend you look for one that’s gentle, and has minimal chemicals. Many brands do this well.

  • QV. But I use the regular range. Not the baby range. The baby range is more expensive.

  • QV gentle is great and has been great for my kids

  • We used Willow by the Sea for baby oil and bottom balm and it was amazing.

  • Qv baby hair shampoo, no more tears

  • The Royal Children’s Hospital recommends using QV Cream to moisturize your baby. A nurse told me this.

  • Water, just pure water :)

  • Just water. They don’t need to be washed that often either. They have such beautiful skin and many products have many irritants or things which can dry it out etc. Used water for months before then using occasionally EcoStore baby body wash the ingredients are pretty much as good/clean as you can get for a product available in the supermarket. 4 years on and still using EcoStore but now switch between the baby body wash and the bubble bath.

  • I remember my son had developed a rash on his skin and we had decided to use QV, like others I think looking back water would have been sufficient.

  • Watwr is fi e for newborns. Once my daughter moved into a toddler I started using moogoo as she has skin allergies

  • I agree just to use water especially by newborns. Soaps & shampoo’s can damage baby’s skin

  • We used just water for the first few months. After this we moved to just a drop or two of baby wash in the water.

  • Another vote here for just water.

  • I only ever use water with my babies

  • It’s actually recommended to use nothing at all as a baby’s skin is very sensitive. All you need is water. However, if you want to use something (maybe every second wash), Gaia has great natural products. You should also only wash baby about every 2 or 3 days- not every day. Otherwise you remove the natural oils that stop their skin from becoming too dry.

  • You do not need anything but water. Occasionally any soap will do. Breastmilk has a lot of mousturising and cleaning properties.
