Yes I found this is the best system for the younger kids. They love playing pokemon and mario games.

I don’t have one here but my daughters have one at their Dads and have for atleast a year or so. My video gamer daughter plays it and she’s 9 – probably has for a few years. My 6 year old doesn’t but she just generally has no interest in games.

Out 10 year old saved up for his, for ages. HE collected bottles and cans. HE finally got it 6 months ago and has never been sorry.

It would be fun during isolation. Just go with your gut!

My 15 year old just bought herself a Switch Lite. The ages of your children may be a bit young. I would be encouraging less screen time for as long as possible.

I personally am not a huge fan of computer games, video games etc; I would tend to wait till they’re older. I still won’t let my kids have them, and the eldest is 12.

Switches are great for so many reasons, I have one and my 4-year-old plays – he just presses buttons really but there is a lot of positive in gaming as well as the negatives we hear about. As long as you control what games they play (and there are many age-appropriate ones to choose from) – the kids will love it! Santa got our first Super Nintendo when I was 4 and I am still a Mario fan 30 years later!

I think they are to young for it

They are a bit young but I think the switch is good as long as it’s group games that bring people together. It’s enjoyable for all ages.

We bought one last Christmas for our children (who were then aged 8, 6 and 3 – so very similar to your ages). We had had a Nintendo Wii and Wii U which our older two played a lot and the younger was usually given a controller or accessory which was not plugged in and he thought he was “playing”.
They LOVE the Switch. Even the youngest is now starting to play properly with it. The Switch is great over the Wii and Wii U as it can be taken outside of the hoe and still played.
Downside is that it does not have access to internet based apps like YouTube, etc. It can only be used for games. But that didn’t bother us.

Just a note, if you do get one, don’t get the Lite versions – the Joy Cons (the remotes used to play the games) are attached to the console and so it can only be a 1 player unit then. Get the proper one with the removable Joy Cons as then multi user games are possible (some games can have up to 8 players! Each user does need either their own Joy Con or pair of Joy Cons, depending on the game.

I’d go for a Nintendo Wii. More active for younger kids and the whole family can enjoy it.

I think it’s great! If it’s in your budget then I would definitely do It.
