Hello!

My doctor said they are good for fibre in your diet as long as they are not the processed ones like the sachet flavoured varieties. I love the raw rolled oats mixed with greek yoghurt not the low fat one as it is too sweet and has a lot of sugar added.

  • Oats are excellent! and they are really filling as well…

  • They are good for you.
You can eat them so many ways so you don’t get sick of them as well.

  • Oats are among the healthiest grains on earth. They’re a gluten-free whole grain and a great source of important vitamins, minerals, fiber and antioxidants. Studies show that oats and oatmeal have many health benefits. These include weight loss, lower blood sugar levels and a reduced risk of heart disease.
Make sure to soak them !
When you soak oats overnight, it’s almost like you’re cooking them, but the process is much longer and slower, and it’s done without heat. Soaking helps the starches break down and reduces the natural phytic acid, which may help your body utilize the oats’ nutrients much more efficiently.

  • Oats are good, but I make sure I soak them for 24 hours. I soak them in warm water, with vinegar or lemon, and some ground buckwheat which helps get rid of the binding agents Unitas that reduce take up of nutrients. Even if making porridge I soak the oats. I always use steel cut oats as they are less processed

  • Yes they are good. I get the steel cut oats which are not processed at all. They have a bit more of a bite, but i like that. I soak them for 24 hours in warm water and vinegar, then rinse and cook with apples, berries. I have to be careful not to overfill my bowl!

  • any food that is processed will pale in dietry goodness as they usually add sugars and salts and anything else to make it moreish. oats are good food that fills

  • I think they are great. They definitely keep you full and can stop you from reaching for the sugar later in the day.

  • My husband eats oats all year round whereas I prefer them in winter. They are very good for you.

  • The low fat Greek yoghurt isn’t necessarily packed with sugar. Check labels as not all brands add lots of sugar.

  • The whole oats have many and varied health benefits. They are a staple breakfast of mine

  • They are good for you because they help digestion, slowing down the release of sugars so your body can process food better, and contain fibre to keep bowels working. I think they are also gluten free (at least free of wheat gluten), so are a good cereal alternative if that is a sensitivity. Can’t think of when it would be bad to east them unless you were already overloaded with carbohydrates, and then would probably be a good idea to swap some of those for oats.

  • I had my greek yoghurt today with raw oats . Nothing like it.

  • Yeah, I like oats with Greek yoghurt too – super yum!

  • yes i guess that makes sense. food is better as close to raw as you can get.
