Perhaps hide it and rearrange furniture, or buy a fluffy sheep rug to hide the stained spot (nice to step on barefoot too!)

You could ask professional cleaners to take a look – it might be worth the cost if they can remove it.

No, don’t bleach it, that will take ALL colour oit and leave you with a noticeable white patch instead. Have you tried one of the other possibilities and repeated it for a better result?

If you want to test it do a tiny patch behind your door. or if you’ve got a little bit that was left over you can try it on that, Bleach will definitely bleach your carpet.

Most carpet spot stain removers will lighten alot of different stains and it’s not expensive. Can always have them professionally treated at the higher cost

Carpet Power is the absolute best. Found in the supermarket. It does not bleach and I’ve never had a fail yet. It now come with a little round brush on the nozzle.

Difficult without knowing what the stain is (there may be more natural ways to remove it), but I’ve used Britex Spot and Stain before (for grease and wine) and it works well (available from Bunnings).

Try this will not bleach the carpet.. Mix 1/4 cup salt, 1/4 cup borax and 1/4 cup vinegar, then apply this paste to deep stains or heavily soiled sections of carpet. Allow the paste to sit on the carpet for several hours until it dries completely, then vacuum it away. I also use dish liquid and a nail brush you could try this a few times and hopefully the stain lightens up every time. Do not use bleach !or hydrogen peroxide.

It depends what caused the stain. For example, we had pet stains when our cat fell ill. Because feces and vomit was protein based, once the solids were removed we initially used liquid dish soap to break up the fat content in the stain. I just gently rubbed it on the carpet with my fingers whilst wearing rubber gloves. After blotting that up, I then rubbed a cake of normal soap over it. Then wiped with a damp cloth. The stain is then blotted up with a dry cloth or paper towel. It may take a couple of goes, but that saved us from having to get a carpet cleaner in or hire a carpet shampooer.

Have you considered hiring a steam cleaner vacuum and giving it a good scrub with their shampoos?

I use the Woolworths carpet cleaner an a blue can and i swear by it. You do beed to put some elbow grease into the scrub but its always pulled stains out

I will not use bleach..do u know what cause that stain? Maybe better contact carpet cleaning company to help you

I’m looking for answers too. It’s even more difficult if you don’t know what caused the stain. Problem i some stain removers actually bleach the spot you put it on.

I would advice you “Carpet Power”. I bought it for a stain on my daughter’s armchair, and it removed it beautifully!

I’ve used baking soda and vinegar on a couple but you have to repeat the process a few times to get it to fade. I works on new stains best but it did eventually fade some older ones before I lost interest.
