Hello!

I’d be interested to know what age and why.

  • I know three women aged 43, 45, and 46 who have all had healthy pregnancies and healthy babies. Personally I would not go beyond 40 years of age.

  • Personally I think till are bodies are naturally able to reproduce. Nowadays people can have babies via ivf past their reproductive years at age 60 or 70 even, but I don’t think that’s natural

  • It really depends on the woman and how she feels about her own health and energy levels.

  • I always thought at 40 was the cut of date but women are having babies alot later now!

  • I met my hubby when I was 32, a year later we got married and started streight way trying for a baby, it took us 6 years of IVF and finally we had our miracle daughter when I was 38. I would never thought that after so much we went through I would fall pregnant naturally just before my 41 birthday. Today I have two beautiful girls that are my everything.
So long there are no health issues I can’t see any problem in having a baby when you are “old”. I know someone who had a baby when she was 50, and they are very happy and have a amazing family.

  • I think live and let live. If you have the love, funds, relationship, heart to have a baby, have one – by natural means. I do think IVF should have a cut off. Our world is very densely populated by humans

  • I think it is doctors always have said 35 , as that is when you have to have special tests for certain health issues etc .

  • I know this is an old question but thought I’d answer for others. I had my first two at 30 and 31 (only 12.5 months apart) and thought I was done. When I passed 40 I had an overwhelming urge to have another and my son was born just a few days before my 42nd birthday and is now 4 and the light of our lives. With a 15, 16 and 4 year old it’s hectic at times but I wouldn’t change it for the world! It depends on your situation, your health and your state of mind at the time and is a personal decision no one else can make for you!

  • I think 40 is the cut off. I see a lt lately of 50 and 60 year olds having babies. I think this is 100% total selfishness on the mums behalf. Not only is she risking her life/health but also the life of bub. I think it’s irrelevant that the mum to be says she’s healthy, having a baby is a massive body drain. Then there’s school time, graduations, weddings, 18th and 21st…..chances are older mums won’t see these. How about the 60+ woman, with 13 children already, now pregnant again??? Not good. I also think if you get up in age, if you can’t have a baby naturally, give up. For your sake, bubs and everyone else.

  • I think its an individual thing, depending on health, energy etc

  • I’d say there are a few factors to consider including physical health and mobility, patience level, financial and relationship status – but most of all, instinct. Good luck!

  • I think there should only be restrictions based on safety to the mum and bubs. Other than that I am glad I had kids younger as I don’t think my energy in another 10 years would allow me to have 2 under 3

  • I think you body will let you know which will be different for every woman, i am of course talking about menopause

  • I was 37 when my son was born, he is now 2 and healthy in all ways possible. I would very much like to have another. It wasn’t an issue of waiting for me it just came down to circumstances.

The older you are the bigger the chance of Down Syndrome in the baby.

  • I don’t really think there’s an age cut off but I think 40 and over is a bit late to be having a baby.

  • Depends how healthy u r

  • I think its hard to pinpoint a specific age but I would think anything over 40 would be pushing it as your body is ageing and not really at the prime to have a baby – also it takes a lot of energy to look after children so that is why they say it is ideal to have a baby in your 20s. Needless to say I think it depends on the person, their health and their views on parenting as to what age they think they could still cope with having a baby.

  • I think when nature says no. Menopause lol

  • I don’t think there is “cut-off” age but generally from the age of 32 your risk for Downs & other genetic abnormalities increase significantly, you’re less fertile etc.

  • I think you need to speak to medical people about this.. Some people can have a baby naturally in their late 40s and some medically can’t have them after 35. If you are worried go and get tests done to see how medically fit you are.
