The big plastic bags – sandwich style bags, but the larger sizes – work well for us. But we have slightly older kids and plastic bags aren’t that dangerous. You could also try shoeboxes, though they’re bulkier.

I would put them in plastic tubs with lids so that you can stack them and see what’s inside each of the tubs.

Storage under the bed is always a good idea. There are rollways that can go under the bed for storage and some have compartments.

I put them all in tubs, the ones that can slide under the bed. Doesn’t matter if there’s pieces if they all go together in one tub

The ikea cube storage shelves are our favourites. Most day to day toys go in storage cubes down low, and things with lots of bit go on high shelves to be played with under supervision.

i have gotten tupperware and ziploc bags etc. The thing is you have to make sure that they go back into these things though and that can be repetitive. You have many open storage options that make it easier just to chuck things into.

My cousin makes drawstring bags which are really handy. They were created specifically for kid’s lego and toys, but in fact I have some that I use for storing makeup in my handbag too. My childs room is 4m sqaured with high ceilings & we still struggle to find homes for her toys.
We got the Storage Cube shelves to lift things off the floor a few months ago which really helped. The rest that she didn’t use went into a box into the shed for the next one.

We have 2 kids & live in a unit, so I understand having limited space. I use pencil cases for puzzle pieces & have sewn drawstring bags for blocks, Duplo, plastic animals, any toys with lots of parts. You can fit a lot more in a toy chest if the toys are in bags instead of boxes or tubs.

One oof the best ideas I’ve seen is a circular playmat with eyelets around the side threaded with cord. When the child has finished playing just pull the cord and the mat closes up into a bag that can be hung on a hook on the wall.

Tubs are great but I find with legos and puzzles or things it is good to put them into zip lock bags in the tubs. It still keeps things sorted and you can still see what is what.

Using the child size wheelie bins. But an easy way to keep the pieces and puzzles together is to use snap lock bags (with the pieces in) taped to the back of the puzzles. You can also put a few in a pillow case and knot the top.

I use zip lock bags for toys that have lots of pieces, helps keep them together. Stackable storage cubes are also a great way to go.

Shoe boxes are good. For really little things, snap lock food containers can be good. Formula tins can be re-purposed (although they don’t stack all that well).

A ‘cube’ storage system is good and can store lots of things for biggies and littlies! I used the top ones and little one gets the bottom ones.
