I had a caeserean then a vbac then another c-section. the first one was emergency due to cord around the neck, the second I was booked in for a c-section but had her naturally the night before, the third one I attempted to have a vbac but after inducement and minimal dialation I had a c-section. The doctors and nursing staff were on hand constantly through the process closely monitoring due to the risk of having to have another c-section. If you do try for a vbac the nursing staff will be on high alert ready to take you into surgery at a minutes notice (or at least they should). I kind of wish I would have just booked in for the c-section because of the pain I went through during the labour only to have the c-section again but in hindsight everything was looking good for another vbac. I would sit down and have a really good think about what is best for you. You kind of know your own body and can sense what to do.

That’s a bit unusual that they would want to induce you after a caesar. I was told it was way too dangerous to do it because it puts extra stress on the scar increasing its chance of rupturing. That said, I did have a successful VBAC with my second and I really did prefer it with how my body coped afterwards.

ok so update, Bubs was born by C section at 36w 6 days. waters broke had 15 hour painful labour and 2 cm dilation I then asked for a C section. Turns out its just as well as she was stuck in the pelvis with her head on a weird angle and had to manipulated and vacuumed out. Both of us are now home and enjoying getting into a routine

I wasn’t given the option of trying a vac after my section I think each doctor have their own views on it, but just remember at the end of the day it’s up to you if you don’t want to risk it only to end up with a section then just tell him you want to go straight to a section without trying.
