As in the ones bought at the start of the school year? I would recommend reselling them at a lesser value or giving them to families in need or that have more than 2 kids attending school (double the fees)

I keep them all. Some are still empty so come in useful down the track. When they’re a bit older, I go through them again and some get thrown out. I have a huge cardboard box in my wardrobe to store the kids mementos

I pass the text books onto other people to use. Normally just recycle except a couple of books.

I’d pick and choose projects to keep but wouldn’t keep everything, that would be too much!

I still have special books & reports from my 3 boys school days! A project book my middle son did on World War 2 actually was sent to the War memorial by his teacher that was based on his own grandfather’s life. I think it is time I hand them back so they can show their own kids their good work.

For their writing books, I let the kids sort what they want to keep and what they don’t. Any with blank pages left are kept to use for writing later. Those they don’t want we cut up to make paper chains and other decorations at Christmas. Then after Christmas, we put the decorations in the compost.

i would keep a few from each year but keep a lot from prep so you can show them (and their kids) how they learnt to write.

Teach the kids of the responsibility of what they want to keep and what can be recycled, go through them together and give advice when needed. Get them involved so they understand the value of their involvement. One day they will thank you and appreciate it.

My primary and high school nooks were in my room till I moved out. I chucked almost all of them. I kept a story book in wrote in year 2. I remember in high school looking over the previous years maths stuff… But English type subjects I never looked at again. Ask yourself if it could be useful… If not declutter.
Might be nice to keep one page or so of writing, to scrap book or something, as a keepsake for how they developed.

it depends on what is in the books. Firstly if they are activity books that haven’t been finished, I keep them for the kids to do over the holidays! If they are books with work in them glued sheets or what not, I will take out what is needed and file them (eg drawings, paintings, stories), the remainder of what I don’t keep goes into recycle. If there are books with heaps of blank pages, I keep for the kids to do arts and crafts in over the holidays.
