My first two are 16 months apart then I waited for the third by choice. Tbh the two close together was easier. I changed one I change both, feed one feed both. They slept at the same times too, it all felt too easy in fact. The third was asleep every time it was school pick up & fortunately my parents did the pick ups so bubs could sleep. Then I was breast feeding so it nearly always interrupted dinner time with the family. Each to their own. Hope this gives a bit of insight.
Two years. I think what works best is different for everyone. For me, I wanted my body recovered to some extent and my eldest not totally dependent before we had another, but I wanted them fairly close together.
4 years (not by choice but by fertillity issues). I would have liked them to be a bit closer together for a lot of reasons. It was nice that my oldest was able to understand and sometimes even be helpful but being both boys it would have been great to have them closer in age so they could play with the same toys. We now have the situation where my big boy wants to play with lego but we cant have it out when the 19mo is awake because he puts it in his mouth. Also it is easier on your budget if they are close in age if you need childcare or have to return to work before they start school because your work is disrupted for a shorter period of time.
