Hello!

What is your favourite Christmas breakfast? I am having the family over to my house this year and quite undecided about what to organise. I have 6 adults and two children. I was thinking it might be easy to keep it simple with croissants and fruit or do I do a big full bbq breakfast? I would love to hear what you do for breakfast to give me some inspiration.

  • Waffles with maple syrup cream and berries. :D

  • We do Christmas pancakes. I add a little food colouring to make them red and green. We make it fun and try design something Christmasy with them.

  • During our Christmas leisure roadtrip we enjoyed all of the full breakfasts offered by our Motel stopover stays…

  • We never did Christmas breakfasts. My kids got stockings full of snacks and drinks that they got into early

  • Definitely simple. Rolls, croissants, jam. Maybe some boiled eggs. Fruits.

  • We definitely keep it simple, with minimal cooking

  • Our Christmas lunch is at Breakfast around 10am
so whatever I cook thats it for the rest of the day

  • If cooking for a number of people it is often easy to use the bbq to cook breakfast.

  • We do pancakes, croissants and bacon and eggs, nothing fancy but all delicious

  • Bread and butter pudding! But I use blueberries and lemon instead of the traditional sultanas.

  • We always keep Christmas breakfast easy and simple because the day is usually full of rich foods that can be heavy on stomachs. We cook eggs and serve with hot or cold ham; depending on preference. We serve with cranberry sauce and fresh bread.

  • I hosted breakfast one year and found a big plate of toast, bbq bacon/eggs and coles cinnamon scrolls went down great

  • I like to keep it simple and the usual, cereal & fruit, as we have so much food the rest of the day.

  • I love a shakshouka for a large number of people. Flavourful and bright. Serve with a side of toast and bacon if you please.

  • You could do some assorted crossaints – plan, choc-filled or almond crossaints, with a fruit platter (berries, melons, pineapple, grapes, etc) and some yoghurt parfaits (you could do different ones with muesli, honey, and a variety of different toppings).

If you wanted to do a bigger BBQ breakfast, you could do grilled meats (sausages, bacon and even grilled tomatoes), eggs (scrambled, fried or omelettes), maybe some veggie skewers with mushrooms, capsicums, zucchini, hash browns or roast potatoes and maybe breads/pastries/crossaints to go with it.

I’d serve some coffee, tea, juice and maybe some mimosas for breakfast time. Some kid friendly options like mini-pancakes (just store bought ones would be fine).

I guess it depends if everyone has a big lunch and/or dinner to go to – if they do, I’d keep it simple with crossaints/fruit/yoghurt, but if it’s one of the main meals, I’d go the BBQ!

    Good luck!
