Hello!

I’m six months pregnant and I like walking a lot, but now that’s it’s getting hotter, I’ve had to substitute pants for shorts. I put on the wrong shorts for walking the other day and now I have a friction rash on my inner thighs (because I don’t have a thigh gap). Should I use Vitamin E cream, aloe vera cream or something else to help it?

  • Use Desitin or Bepanthan or baby bottom nappy rash creams. Creams that have a high zinc content heal the skin very quickly. A trick of mine is I cut a period pad in half and stick it to one of my thighs and this stops the rash occurring in the first place.

  • Baby powder you want to keep it dry to stop the rubbing

  • 3B cream – from chemist BRILLIANT for between legs, under boobs, wherever. All the best with the pregnancy x

  • I develop rashes just under my knees as it does get sweaty in heat and it could be the salt levels in your body as it is very irritating . Have you tried using baby powder or talc as it used to help me. I used to develop some varicose veins when pregnant so I was more wary of that .

  • This answer is a bit late now, but I would recommend sorbolene cream.

  • I would start by wearing pants long enough to reach past your rash, so your legs aren’t rubbing together. Curash is great fir this. Or plain old cornflour, they both stop the rubbing and friction. Good luck with it, sounds uncomfortable

  • You’ve probably had your bub by now but I’d suggest 3b cream and wear leggings that cover your legs where it rubs

  • try putting Vaseline on them, my son’s got rashes when playing football shorts rubbing against legs. This worked and also on nappy rash too, hope it helps you. Old remedies are sometimes best and inexpensive too.

  • I’ve always used Vaseline TBH and it works lol!
I didn’t get it when I was pregnant but have sometimes since all my weight gain when walking in hot weather or similar and as it’s a barrier it stops it getting worse and usually by the next day it’s fine again.
Hope you get some relief xx

  • I would use 3B cream during the day to avoid it occurring, but until it heals I would use a nappyrash cream , the one that comes to mind is covitol, is is zinc based and will not come off whilst sleeping or walking around the house, smells obviously like zinc cream but it is very effective and 1 or 2 nights should cure it, then it is a matter of avoiding it. and 3b cream is great, I believe they also have a powder now as well.

  • Try Nutri Rich oil by Nutrimetics its natural and safe to use. Great for rashes and also scars, stretch marks, nappy rash, dry skin list go on. You can get at http://www.nutrimetics.com.au/tracybaker

  • Curash in the blue bottle is amazing. Works a treat for all those prone to rubbing areas. I swear by it..it works amazingly good for me…instant relief arrrr!!

  • Three B (or 3B) is very good.

  • Curash Cream is a great preventative, paw paw ointment will help healing.

  • Maybe try paw paw cream it’s good for lots of stuff

  • Curash powder

  • I agree with some of the other comments. Sudocreme is great for nappy rash so hopefully it will help heal your problem and you can use the remainder of the container for baby.
Talcum powder is another great idea – just make sure it doesn’t have aluminium in it at all. Even some of the top brands have had it in them. I admit I haven’t idea for awhile as we swapped to the Sudocreme as we found it worked better than any of the other nappy rash products, and we tried a lot of different ones. Vitamin E Cream should help. I am not sure about Aloe Vera Cream. I know it is good for sunburn. Our little one went to the playground on a cloudy and lost one said hat.
Another option is to speak to a pharmacist., especially if your skin is actually broken.
They will advise you what is safe to use during your pregnancy. Not all products are safe during that time.
I hope your pregnancy goes well.

  • Cortisone cream and curasH powder Worked for me good luck

  • Vasaline.
Otherwise I’ve heard of using deodorant.

  • H, sorry to hear that. You may also want to try rubbing some talc on to dry your skin and prevent any future chafing. Johnson’s has a medicated baby powder with cornstarch which is hypoallergenic and should do the trick. I used it for chafing when I wore the wrong workout top and ended up with a rash on my arms that was driving me crazy. Good luck!
