Hello!

I am waiting to see my doctor about treating my prolapsed uterus and wanted advise from other mums on exercise and sex. I’m trying to loose my post baby bump but I’m scared any exercises I do will make my prolaspse worse, and likewise for sex and will i be able to have another baby with or without the support aurgery? Sharing any of your experiences would be appreciated.

  • My friend has been operated on this. She’s a physiotherapist herself so knew all the exercises before she chose to go for operation.

  • I like yoga. It’s gentle and flowing if that’s how you want it or it can be increased in intensity to burn fat if you like. Great way to get in and stay in shape for everyone, no matter their level of fitness or movement

  • talk to a doctor about this

  • I have never had one, I do believe that carrying a child can be an issue after a prolapse, but talk to your dr to make sure

  • visit the gyni and there are special chairs you can sit on it makes you do 2200 pelvic floor tightings in 20 mins i did this for 6 weeks twice a week and it makes a huge difference without having to have the surgery

  • i have to agree with a visit to a professional

  • I would see a professional before attempting anything.

  • Go and see a physiotherapist and focus on exercising those kegels. You can improve it, but it sounds like surgery might be your best option

  • Make sure you are referred to a good specialist. My mum has suffered terribly with tummy pains since having her prolapse repair. Good luck I hope you get better quickly.

  • I’d suggest not having sex until you see the specialist. Good luck.

  • I’m not giving any advice, I just wanted to wish you luck and let you know that I hope the Doctor gives you all the advice and answers you need. I recently found out I have a retroverted uterus which can lead to a prolapse and although I’ve finished my family I still felt stunned and concerned. Pelvic floor exercises was the Dr.’s advice to me to prevent a prolapse. It is a really horrible feeling to find out things are not all as they should be, so I understand hoe you must feel. Good luck.

  • stop all activities as mentioned until you see your doctor.

  • I would take it easy until you have spoken to your doctor as you don’t want to make things worse.

  • Absolutely talk to your GP to get a proper answer. I’d also recommend seeing a phsyio who specialises in women pre and post pregnancy. From what I understand of it though, normal pelvic floor exercises will help. But to be safe, wait from the all clear from the professionals. After all, weight loss is a gradual thing and won’t happen overnight, so waiting a few days until you talk to someone won’t hurt :)

  • I would really ask you local GP before I would do anything

  • exercise shouldn’t harm you and pelvic exercise should also help, though I am not a professional and cant be certain of this

  • i think walking is your best bet for now
