We use mozzie stickers that we buy from eBay . Works a treat

I’ve used the repellent bracelets in the past & they have worked for me, but for the younger kiddies I would use the fabric spray as it is safer to use on them.

We are using mozzie spray.

Citronella is supposed to help keep them away. A high vitamin b diet can help to keep them from biting.
I use bushman spray with the higher deet. It seems to work the best but I’m not sure if can be used for young children. Maybe ask a pharmacist for something to help.

I think eucalyptus and peppermint helps a lot to keep them away. I guess there are few others as well but these 2 for sure.

There a few plants that detour mozzies, which you could put in pots around his play area.
I also just found out that silver dollar eucalyptus trees are good for keeping mozzies away

I love the parkito kids repellent bracelets and the mosiquito dots I always stick one one the back of my kids tops .. or pram hood etc.. always seems to work well using both these…

I’d love to know this for myself and kids as the products containing DEET aren’t the safest yet they’re the most effective that I’ve found. I’ve tried numerous natural sprays and even the device that puts out a silent mozzie repellant signal but they don’t work well. Neither does telling them to bugger off with a stern voice and look of anger in one eye. The kids Aeroguard one seems to work the best, though, so I’m using that.

You could try placing a few pots of lavender around the deck. Mozzies don’t like lavender especially crushed or essential oil maybe you could place an oil burner with some too to try for natural prevention?

You can buy plug in mozzie and fly repellers. They plug in and put out a frequency that flys and mozzies and other crawlies can’t stand. You can use them inside as well. It’s a great way to not have to use toxic sprays. You can buy them online. But make sure you get one compatible with Australian plugs otherwise you have to buy an adapter. They really do work.

I bought Aerogard Fabric insect repellent and it seemed to work so far. This was it’s not directly on their sometimes sensitive skin. Also wear light coloured clothing as they’re more attracted to dark fabrics apparently. Good luck!

Rid always works a treat, otherwise sandalwood or mozzie coils can work too.

Citrone fragrance candles etc are good otherwise mozzie bands etc

We seem to have more mozzies and flys this year than prior years. Plus the mozzies seem to now like me more. I have been looking at plants to repel and have heard catnip, lavendar and rosemary, along with citronella are supposed to repel but I am yet to try them out. Just make sure if you have children or pets you google the plants to make sure they are safe and not toxic to children and pets etc.

I spray the bedrooms starting in the corners of room, but outside is hard I would clean the area and wipe the areas and put a bug zapper on the patio and there are bug sprays and ointments that you can buy to put on children and always have long sleeve clothes on children. They are coming up with new safe ointments so some might work but spray the areas to make the safe. Mozzies are around all day where I live so it’s hard when allergic to them.
