Hello!

“Hi all, I am 30 weeks pregnant and wondering when do I pack my bag for the hospital and what do I put in it? Did anyone pack anything special that they found useful? I would love some advice here!!” When and what do you pack in a hospital bag?

  • at 30 weeks and again basically every week until I go into labour haha every time (4) has been like that, I really need to be and feel organised and like I’m not forgetting a single thing! haha

  • I would definitely pack it by or during the time you are in your third trimester. ( earlier the better)!

  • Definitely pack your bag well in advance – babies come early! I found a notebook and pen was handy, for writing down anything the doctor said that was important.

  • I probably started at 30 weeks. I packed lots of undies, the chunky overnight pads, several nighties that button up front for breastfeeding (you’ll need changes of undies and nighties because of the blood), the usual toiletries, a dressing gown. Up to you if you take normal clothes or not, I didn’t

  • I packed mine at 34weeks. Lots of comfy undies! I always ran out of underwear!!

  • Toiletries of course. Nighties that button down the breast if you’re breast feeding. Underwear. Pads. Clothes if you want out of the night wear. Nibbles.

  • I hope you were packed and ready to go when the time came!

  • Great advice below – hope it helped.

  • Don’t forget the lip balm.

  • At least 3 changes of clothes- more than that for bub, some wraps & don’t forget maternity pads & toiletries. My hospital didn’t even provide soap in the shower!

  • Maternity Pads, Breast Pads, comfy clothes etc.

  • I’d pack now, you never know what can happen. The only thing I really thought was useful was my own pillow.

  • I would pack it by 30 weeks ad the hospital will gov you a list of what to bring all hospitals are different

  • Pack it now! You never know what could happen. Also pack it when you still have the mobility, when you’re really big you won’t want to do anything

  • The hospital should be able to give you a list, I know mine did. Some hospitals supply things like pads, nappies, baby clothes, and other things, whereas some don’t. I’ve given birth at two different hospitals and they were both so different with what they supplied.

  • Baby #1 – 30 weeks, I was way too excited
    Baby #2 – 34 weeks after a scare
Baby #3 – 30 weeks, but added last minute items at 36+5 and was shocked when she arrived the next day.

    Baby
2 of for each day stay (2-3 days) wondersuits, singlets or onesies.
Booties, mittens and beanies, nappies and wipes
Bottle and Formula is your want to bottle feed
Going home outfit, nappy bag, pram

    Yourself
Loose waisted pjs, loss fit pj tops (I wore a quite firm singlet underneath with maternity clips)
Yogo style pants and grannie undies
Pads and freshwipes (I found wipes are much better than paper for the first few days)
    Plenty of tops and singlets
Breast pads if you are breastfeeding or bottle feeding because even bottle feeding your breasts may leak for up to 6 months.
    Note book and pen
Lollies and change for phone and vending machine

    Partner
Spare change of clothes and Pj’s
Spare top in your labour bag too… He may get wet if you are showered or soiled if he holds baby before he/she is cleaned.
Quick microwave meal incase the hospital doesn’t supply, saves him rushing out to get a meal.

  • Lots of pads, Brest pads, lots of comfy clothes and undies. Tolieties, phone, camera, dressing gown, slippers, something nice but comfy to go home in. I packed a little cooler with snacks and drinks for hubby, which worked out well cause I didn’t want him to leave my side. Contact numbers for notifying the world of you special new arrival.

  • Pads… Absorbent overnight pads. Lol n comfortable clothes slippers?.. Yes definitely breast pads too

  • Pads… Absorbent overnight pads. Lol n comfortable clothes slippers

  • Lots of breast pads and tena lady if your water has broken its nice to have extra protection labour takes hours and you may be walking around the hospital . The hospital supply most items like nappies rugs for baby. I would make sure you have lots if clothes for the baby because one poo and there going to need a soak , something to keep you Sain magazines ect
