Cows milk is acceptable from one, if the child has an otherwise sufficient diet. However continuing formula is not harmful.

I gave my twins full cream milk when they were about 13 or 14 months old.

I used a mix between breast milk and formula during the first few months. As soon as my bubs turned 1, I stuck to formula only.

Pretty sure you can use full cream milk from one, so long as they are eating a balanced diet and getting enough nutrients from that 🙂

I started full cream milk for my kids when they started to wean off breast milk. I introduced it slowly. Now, I think I would have given them formula as it seems to have more health benefits

everyone suggests 12 months old. please keep in mind that they also advise that if a baby has had formula they can be more likely to have reactions to straight cows milk.

I started all my older 3 on full cream once they hit 12 months and will do the same again with my 4 month old when the time comes. I also gave them an introduction to fill cream before 12 months adding it into my cooking or farex

My GP and health nurse said from 12 months, but if your bub is eating well I cant imagine a few weeks makes a big difference.

You can stay on formula if that is what you prefer and then wean into cows milk later on. I was offering my daughter small amounts of cows milk in a cup but was still giving her formula bottles. My doctor gave the ok to wean her by mixing formula with cows milk. I just worked out when to start weaning by how much formula was left in the tin. She was only having cow’s milk from about 2 days before her first birthday.

12 months is when they can start on cows milk. Unless there is a reason for it I wouldn’t worry about spending more money on toddler formulas, they’re a bit of a marketing ploy and as long as you’re feeding your child a variety of foods they don’t need the extra supplements.

I always got told no cows milk until 1 by my friends but who knows.
I guess each bub is different… I have a 7 month old at the moment and my 2 year old doesn’t drink cows milk unless it’s flavoured as she doesn’t like the taste of it plain!

I breast fed and my babies started on cows milk at around 9 months of age. If I knew now back then, I would switch them to formula then to cows milk later as formula is nutritionally better

I swap for full milk when kids were 1yo. They never were keen on formula or toddler milk.

You can introduce 3.25% homogenized whole cow’s milk at 9 to 12 months of age once your baby is eating a variety of iron rich foods at least twice a day. Offer cow’s milk in a regular cup (not a sippy cup). This will help your baby learn how to drink.
To begin with, try mixing fresh milk with some formula at first. Then slowly shift the ratio until your little on is drinking all fresh milk.

From 12 months you can switch to cows milk. I made the decision to use follow on formula as my little was fussy and wasn’t drinking as much cows. Now they can drink both. So you do it in your own time and what works for you!

I believe it’s fine to give her full fat cows milk, although at this age she should also be eating some solids.

I started around 11 months 1 week. He was fine. I did it slowly, mixing milk and formula and now he just has milk at 11 months 3 weeks. He eats alot.
They say to wait til bub is 1 year old and eating 1000 cals a day to make up for the formula. I find my boy eats more now that he’s on only milk
