Hello!

Hi Mouths of Mum’s, I’m hoping some mum’s may be able to offer a little bit of advice; I have a 1 yr old who will fall asleep everywhere but her cot, and when my husband or myself move her in to her bed (which is still in our room) she will wake instantly and have a look of fear in her eyes and will cry until she is sick. Is this just separation anxiety or could it be something more? My husbands father passed away 2 1/2 weeks ago and my daughter started this the night before the funeral just under 2 weeks ago.

  • I would try and make the bed different feel for her maybe the sheets are cold try and make it feel safer feeling and snuggly.

  • How did she end up going?

  • how is she going now?

  • Perhaps a good time to try them in their own room so that there is a change which might snap them out of it?

  • Is she sleeping in her bed now?

  • Hope she sleeps better now

  • Has her sleep gotten any better for you?

  • Hopefully just a phase that she will have grown out of by now.

  • If she falls asleep that is a good thing? My daughter falls asleep on the floor cuddled up to teddies, we just leave her there.

  • I don’t think she would know the difference of the pa dying but. They can pick up on the tension. Maybe she can feel ur sadness?

  • Babies can pick up on your emotions, so she can probably sense your sadness.. I hope things are going better now

  • Is it really that important to have her in the cot?

  • Just reassure her and make her feel safe in the cot. It will pass

  • Maybe try singing to her and rubbing and patting her back just keep trying don’t give up, best of luck :-)

  • Even try singing to her rubbing and patting her back just keep trying and don’t give up :-)

  • She must be feeling the grief, poor baby :-)

  • Perhaps she has picked up on the sadness in your family right now and wants to be close to you both. Hopefully it will pass!

  • Try putting the cot side down and sitting beside the cot and pat her to sleep if it works then cut down the amounts of pats as time goes on the strt moving the chair away etc

  • I hope she goes back to normal soon and that she can fall asleep in her cot, best of luck

  • Maybe the kids are sensing something is wrong and want to be nearer to you for comfort
