One of the most precious things about being a grandparent is being able to spoil your beloved grandchildren, but as one doting grandma found out not everyone agrees!

Mum Victoria Eaves shared a sweet video of her two-year-old son Owen at his grandparents’ house, with the caption: ‘When you’re 2 & at your grandparents house’. The quick clip shows her toddler being spoon fed by his grandma, while he relaxes on a mini-recliner, watching a TV show.

@victoria_eaves Someone grab the king some grapes? ????He’s got his “Ressa” wrapped around his little fingers ???? #toddlersoftiktok #toddler #toddlermom #spoiled #grandma #grandparentsoftiktok #grandparents #grandparentslove #grandparentshouse ♬ Forever And Ever Amen COVER by Brent Morgan – Brent Morgan

Pretty wholesome, right?

We thought so too – I mean if your grandparents can’t spoil you, who can?! But the now-viral video, which has been viewed more than five million times, has attracted its fair share of haters.

The video was re-shared by another account, and the comments are scathing!

“I’m a nana, and have a 1yr old granddaughter:) No way do I want her to date this little guy! He’s being taught to have a woman serve him:(,” commented one grandmother.

“What the fluff?? That kid should be able to feed themself!” another person commented.

“Will grow up to be spoiled and weak,” wrote another.

However there were also hundreds of beautiful and positive comments, a lot from grandparents supporting the amazing relationship between grandma and her grandson.

We love it too.

  • People need to get over it.
I assure you that when he is 30 he will be feeding himself. Dont panic

  • I think it’s harmless, I just see a grandmother doting on her grandchild

  • Omg what the devil is wrong with people, getting all upset over a 2 year old, yes a 2 year old being spoon fed. I know my kids at 2 still preferred to be fed. It was easier and less messy. They are now adults and know how to hold a knife and fork the right way, not like I see a lot of young people these days who obviously were never taught how to hold a knife and fork properly as they were probably told, don’t worry, your feeding yourself so you just get the food in your mouth any way you can. Nup, never did that, when I felt my kids were ready to feed themselves I showed them how told hold, whatever they were using, the right way. And grand parents should be able to spoil their grand kids. Be nice

  • What’s more heartwarming than the pure joy a grandparent experiences in cherishing and spoiling their little ones with love and care?

  • I don’t see anything wrong with this. It’s not like it’s done every day. I used to do the same thing for my Grandson and Granddaughters whenever I looked after them. I also did the same thing for my boys at times and they are the most loving and caring sons I could have wished for. They’ve never expected anyone to wait on them.

  • It seems pretty harmless as an occasional thing.

  • Why are people so judgemental I personally think its gorgeous it not only shows so much love she has for her grandson its just Beautiful

  • It’s gorgeous, just as long as it’s a grandparent thing and doesn’t continue back at home.

  • Some people need to get a life. It’s a precious bond

  • It’s a simple video. Why do we have to over-analyse everything. It is what it is.

  • My mum has done that. Sometimes when you have a fussy eater it’s a good idea to distract them first. I’ve done it too when in a rush and can’t leave until your child has finished eating. It’s sometimes faster.

  • It’s silly to judge when we don’t even know the background of this story ! The child could bve sick or recovering from a sickness, it could be exhausted after a long day of running around, it could be emotional or in pain and just wants to be a little child at the moment, it could have fine or gross motor delay and grandma may just want to be sure he gets his meal and nutrients. We simply don’t know…

  • Oh goodness people can be so harsh and judgemental. Turning any beautiful moment into something it isnt

  • People need to get a grip- it’s not like he’s being served all the time!

  • Ohh man people can be so so cruel, I love that the Grandma loves him and has time for him, both my children’s Grandma’s do the same so judge me, people can be so unkind, this world would be a better place if everyone just could get along and kept their opinions to themselves.

  • Oh man, people are so quick to judge !

    • It is unfortunate because being judgmental must surely be exhausting for the mind and of course it impacts on the body.

      • yes it’s like a disease spreading through your mind and body and impacting self & others

  • That looks so funny. But not sure if I want my parents to do that to my kids.

  • I would the best if you have grandma to spoil.

  • This is super cute! People need to stop judging others and keep their negativity to themselves! I see a loving grandma feeding her grandson.. nothing wrong with that!
