As Maddie McCann’s parents face their ninth Christmas without their beautiful girl, they have published a list of twenty-two things they miss most about her.

Gerry and Kate McCann are throwing their support behind the Missing People’s Christmas campaign, which also features another eleven families who also have a missing a parent, sibling, son or daughter.

All the families involved in the campaign have had their photos taken by photographer James O Jenkins outside of their homes – waiting for their loved ones to appear. The photos will appear as part of a strong London based exhibition, titled: ‘Missing People’s Home For Christmas’.

  • So hard for this family – no closure and constantly blaming themselves – it’s amazing they are still together – many families would have failed under the stress.

  • Such a heartbreaking story and situation for this family.

  • So incredibly sad. Breaks your heart and I’m sure little William Tyrell’s parents are doing the same thing. Heart wrenching

  • Why would you leave a child that young in a room alone??? Was the lock of the door “picked” ??? Somebody attempted to do that with mine a few weeks ago. I can’t remember whether or not the room was on the ground floor. Maybe she couldn’t sleep and walked out un-noticed. We may never know. It must be heartbreaking for her Grandparents and other relatives too.

  • I feel so sorry for this couple – their search will never end until they get proof that she is no longer alive or she comes back to them miraculously.

    • It must be absolute agony for them – the most horrific event.

  • I hope they manage to find some answers or at least find some peace.

  • This is so sad that they have to wake up each day and not know where she is or if she is ok or not. It would be awful, my heat goes out to them

  • To this day , I am still astounded how a child can be snatched from a hotel room , unless she opened the door herself and ran away . So sad and unbelievable .

  • Sorry, but I just don’t believe them…

  • Such a sad story. Incredible that, after so many years, there are still no clues about Maddie’s whereabouts. It must be so sad for her family. Lost, vanished. I would miss her immensely too. :-(

  • My heart aches for this family as a mum of three young girls, not knowing who took her, why they took her, is she still alive, so many unsolved questions. I really hope someday they get some answers as parents they deserve too.

  • No one would want to be in their position. There’s no closure, just a lot of questions, pain, praying, and hoping.
