I’ve always been too scared to try a crown braid on my daughter’s hair but this simple pull through crown braid looks easy to do and so beautiful.

What you’ll need:

  • hairbrush
  • mini hair elastics
  • flower pins (optional)

Method:

  1. Brush hair so it is smooth.
  2. Make small bunches around head and tie with elastics.
  3. When you get to the second ear, start adding middle of hair to bunches too.
  4. Divide the first bunch into 2.
  5. The next bunch goes through the middle and then join the divided hair onto the third elastic.
  6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 with the next bunch and carry on around the head.
  7. Pin the tail up onto the head.
  8. Decorate with flowers if you wish.

My daughter has requested one of these for her graduation this year.

  • This always looks beautiful ! And because of the hair elastics it sits and stays neat easily for a day as well ! And yes, you need children who’re willing and have some patience….

  • Wish my daughter would let me do this in her hair but she just has a ponytail day in day out

  • Looks great – but the only way this would happen in my house is if I use a hairpiece – no-one has enough hair for this braid.

  • Looks beautiful and elegant. I’m only just getting the hang of braiding myself, but I’d love to try this one on myself, just to see if I could accomplish it. I had to watch a YouTube video to even learn how to do a fishtail braid.

  • Wow, the finished product looks really good. Not sure it’s that simple to do. Things like this I usually need a video demonstration of. I need to be more hair adventurous.
