Hello!

If you’re partial to some ‘chippy time’ like our family – you’re going to love what we’re about to share.

It’s a rare week that a pack of Kettle, Thins or Samboy chips don’t end up in the shopping trolley – because: delish! But I recently discovered that all of these iconic chips are actually supporting Aussie farmers, which makes me feel even better about adding them to the school lunchboxes and snack shelf.

Snackbrands Australia is the leading snack manufacturer behind so many of our favourite Aussie snacks. As well as the ones I’ve already mentioned, they also craft Cheezels, CC’s, Natural Chip Co., Jumpy’s and Chickadees. And they’re proud as punch to be partnering with Aussie farmers to use only 100% Aussie potatoes when making their snacks in Australia.

Brands like Kettle, CC’s and Cheezels are made in Australian in a new factory in Orchard Hills NSW – and all of the chips made at that facility use 100% Aussie grown spuds. And the corn in the Cheezels and CC’s are made with 100% Australian corn as well.

So next time you’re labouring over which chips to choose in the snack aisle, it might be worth remembering who is supporting our Aussie farmers. I know I will be.

  • I absolutely love reading this. Personally I’ve taken to only buying local peanuts and Australian peanut products due to the closure of QLD manufacturing pants, which will have devastating effects on farmers and producers. Australian made is the #1 driving factor of my grocery shopping, so I love when I see big brands doing what’s best to support our Aussie industries

  • It is amazing that there are still big companies that do something good for people in need or just as a matter of support. I have discovered for myself recently for the first time Cheezels. I have never tried them before and I have to say “OMG! They are awesome!”

  • Interesting article. It’s nice to hear that Australia still makes some snacks and they aren’t imported from other countries. We are finding less and less food is made in Australia so I think it’s great to promote that these are Australia made as I am all for supporting our Aussie farmers

  • I don’t know that I’d go so far as to say that I feel proud, but I do feel pleased. I actively try to support Australian farmers by buying products with Australian ingredients. And to be honest, I think it’s often safer as well – our food safety standards are high.

And you’re right… these are delicious! A few could have their preservatives reviewed but I’d you’re not eating it all the time… it’s all good… and if you are… well thank you for supporting Australia!

  • I have to comment that knowing there is a factory in Australia that produces these yummy snacks makes me have them on the top of my list when purchasing snacks. It is important in our household to support Australian when we can. It is also so important to support local producers.

  • Wow! These are all popular brands in my house with my kids and hubby and I all enjoying the odd snack attack.. Sometimes it’s easy to get complacent about what product is made where so it’s good to know that all our favourite snack brands here are Aussie ones. And even better, only 20 minutes away from where I live, west of Sydney. Yippee! Chippee!

Some of these snacks are family favourite snacks to eat. Cheezels have always been a favourite snack to eat at parties and other get togethers.
