Hello!

OMG…I seriously don’t know if I can handle another collectable craze. But like it or not, a new craze is on its way!

Following the wild success of Coles’ Little Shop and its festive season offshoot, the supermarket has shared details of its new Stikeez campaign.

Stikeez are mini fruit and veggies with tiny suction bases – designed in partnership with Healthy Kids Association in an effort to make healthy eating fun.

There are 24 minis to collect, with some being named after real-life Coles producers. My kids can’t wait to get their hands on Sunny the Strawberry, named after supplied Sunny Ridge Strawberry Farm in Victoria. There’s also Marie the Mango and Carlo the Cucumber named for Carlo Pippo from Fresh at Heart in Ballina, NSW.

Healthy Eating

Stikeez will launch in conjunction with the Rainbow Challenge, which invites consumers to keep track of what fuite and vegetables they are eating by crossing off all the fruit and vegetable colours of the rainbow each day.

As reported in news.com.au, Coles chief operating officer Greg Davis said he expected the new craze to be a hit.

“We know our customers love new and exciting campaigns that make shopping fun. In this case we’re bringing to life our fresh produce to help parents encourage their kids to try new types of fresh fruit and veggies,” he said.

Curtis Stone, Coles Fresh Ambassador and celebrity chef, has developed easy-to-prepare recipes for kids to make with their parents.

“As a parent I know how hard it can be to get kids excited about eating their veggies so I’m really excited about helping to make them fun and tasty with my colourful recipes like ‘broc tots’, eggplant chips and rainbow pizzas,” he said.

“I can’t wait to see how Aussie families bring the Rainbow Challenge to life and have fun eating delicious healthy food.”

Stikeez will be available from Wednesday 13 February and customers can receive one free collectable for every $30 they spend in store.

Stikeez collector cases will also be available for $4, together with a range of drink bottles, plush toys, snack boxes and pouches.

  • While I strongly support the concept behind Stickies to encourage healthy eating, and having had most of the collection in our house for a few weeks, these collectables scare me as I’ve witnessed so many kids (not mine thankfully) putting them in their mouth. A choking hazard?
