Mocka’s Pies Bakehouse in Port Douglas, Queensland, has created the ultimate ‘Pieger’ – a cross between a cheeseburger and Australia’s iconic meat pies.

In celebration of National Burger Day, the bakery has whipped up a delicious mash-up, with the burger encased in a pastry crust with sesame seeds sprinkled on top.

The piegers contains everything you would normally find in a cheeseburger – beef patties, melted cheese, pickles and diced onions.

Customers who were lucky enough to taste the creation said it was delicious while others wanted to get their hands on the pigers.

‘Mocka’s pies are filled with tender chunks of 100 per cent grass fed beef, made from scratch with our own unique recipe handed down from Mocka himself,’ the bakery said.

‘We bake daily, including great coffee and milkshakes, all served with good old fashion friendly service.’

  • I would but I would have to pull it apart to get rid of the bloody pickles!

    • I would have to get rid of the onions as well as the pickles. Neither are suitable if you have reflux or a hiatus hernia which can cause heartburn with vomiting as well.
