Hello!

We’re pretty sure this amazing invention could solve all of our mini brick problems. It’s a vacuum cleaner that doesn’t just suck up LEGO, it sorts them too. Genius!

It’s a parental rite of passage to do the LEGO death walk across your child’s room, feeling the hurty, stabby wrath of stray bricks under your feet. But imagine if the kids loved cleaning up their LEGO, as much as they loved playing with it?!

Matty Benedetto is the product designer behind the very clever Unnecessary Inventions, which brings to life ideas that he says ‘solve problems that don’t exist’. But this time, Matty has come up with a contraption that actually does solve an age old problem – how to clean up and store LEGO!

LEGO Vacuum

He’s called it the ‘LEGO Suck It!’, and if you’re a fan of The Office, you’ll know exactly where the inspiration came from. Matty build the LEGO Suck It using an existing vacuum and modifying it. The contraption sucks up LEGO and sorts it into three compartments.

Here’s how Matty describes his invention: “The Lego Suck It!™️ The world’s first vacuum powered LEGO cleanup device that automatically sorts each brick by its individual size. This vibrant cleaning accessory features a multi-stage chamber that magnetically separates for quick organisation of your favourite toy bricks.

“The high suction vacuum will ensure every brick is sucked up from your floors and swiftly deposited into the clear tube as each lego piece cascade down and get sorted into their different sizes. So when things get messy, just SUCK IT!”

Take a look at it in action:

Someone needs to give this man a patent and a fistful of cash stat!

NERF Dart Vacuum Cleaner

NERF Vacuum

Here’s a clever invention that actually exists – a NERF Dart vacuum. If you’ve ever been in the aftermath of a NERF war, you’ll know how painful it is to get the kids to pick up the darts. Enter, the NERF Elite Dart Rover.

This guy picks up 100 darts in super quick time, just glide over the ground and watch them get pulled into the mesh chamber.

  • Such a fantastic idea. And such a pity it’s twenty years too late for me. This is one invention that many parents will love to have in their household. Thanks for letting us all know about it.

  • Lego vacuum is cool but the lego head does something similar

  • What a fantastic idea this would definitely take the labour out of picking up and sorting all those lego bricks. Even the kids would be happy to clean them up.

  • The Lego head containers sort like this too :)

  • This would have saved me so much time when I was a kid! I can’t wait for my kids to be old enough to play with Lego.

  • That’s handy and actually pretty cool

  • We probably needed this as children, it used to take us forever to sort the bricks into colours and sizes, in the end mum made a giant drawstring playmat and everything just got jumbled up together. I am actually looking forward to the day I get to sit on that same giant mat with my son and play legos.

  • That’s a brilliant invention that needs to be patented immediately. Not being sexist but I was surprised that a Mum hadn’t invented it. We’re usually the ones who end up picking everything up off the floor. Well Matty, you’ve just proved me wrong and I am willing to admit it too. Next thing we need is something to pick up all the dirty clothes off the floor and put straight into the wash basket.
