  • oh that nasty negative self talk

  • Very true, words are very powerful.
What we say about ourselves in front of our children can really shape them I believe

  • Good advise. I think I’m always listening to noises outside of my head (cat, kid, husband, traffic, tv or radio) that I forget what noises I’m making inside of my head.

  • I’ve found that as a single Mum I really need to back myself openly, I’ve turned it into a bit of an ongoing fun thing with my 13 & 9 year old where I buy every mum related mug out there & the kids roll their eyes & have a giggle each morning when I start sipping from a new one. I got really down on myself & this has really flipped my mood lately. After all I’m the Best Mum Ever… I’ve got the mug to prove it!

  • Great advice Debbie, I also need to be kinder to myself, I always put others first and find I have feelings of resentment that build up because of this – I need to remember to take time out for me on a more regular basis – thanks for the reminder!

  • Great advice – as women we are harsh judgers on ourselves and some on others. Not sure where this comes from but we generally expect a lot from ourselves

  • Thanx again for a wonderful day tip Debbie.. the key is to be kind to yourself.

  • I learnt this a while ago now. When your grown up children tell you what a wonderful job you have done in rearing your family, all self doubt goes away. Remember there are no rule books to read on rearing children or being a good mother or a good role model. We all have to muddle through on our own, so self doubt should not be contemplated.
