We sent this mum and baby, the all-new Smart Sock. Read their Owlet Smart Sock 3 review right here!

I was sent the Owlet Smart Sock 3 to review with our 10 month old baby girl Lily – and god, I wish I had it from the moment she was born!

Owlet’s all-new Sock is the third of its kind and smarter than ever. The Smart Sock 3 is the successor to the award-winning Smart Sock 2 and is the first baby monitor to track your baby’s oxygen level and heart rate – the best indication of baby’s health while they sleep.

Most baby monitors only allow you to monitor your baby in a fixed location. But what’s great about the Smart Sock 3 is that it provides accurate insights into baby’s wellness while they sleep anywhere in your home.

I found with my second baby, getting as much solid sleep as possible was even more important this time around. When you have a toddler or preschooler, you don’t have the luxury of catching up on sleep when the baby sleeps during the day, and the Owlet Smart Sock 3 ensures you get as much uninterrupted sleep as possible.

When my first was a newborn, he woke every two hours around the clock, and then I would nap during the day to catch up on sleep. You can do that with your first, but not with your second. You have washing and cleaning to do, as well as a toddler underfoot who needs love and attention. Not only do you need more sleep than ever, but you need to be able to put your bub down for naps and have peace of mind they are OK while you run around trying to frantically get everything done.

Lily was one of those newborns who slept through the night from the minute I bought her home. I truly didn’t think other mums were telling the truth when they said their babies actually slept through the night from the start. But Lily did.

Do you think this means I have slept well since she was born? No!

Even after two babies, I still wake up in the night to check on them. With Lily, I kept waking through the night to check her breathing as she was such a solid sleeper. Now, with the Owlet Smart Sock 3, I know there will be an alert if anything changes, so I sleep right through with the reassurance she is being monitored constantly.

But what I liked most about the Owlet Smart Sock 3, and why I wish I had it from the beginning with my first, was the difference it made to Date Night with my husband. Previously Date Night was interrupted by me getting up to check the baby was OK, or if not actually physically getting up, not being entirely present with my husband as I kept an ear out for the baby. Now with the Smart Sock, I can see the lovely green light on the dock out of the corner of my eye and know she is OK. And give hubby my full attention.

The functionality of the device and mobile app is very sleek and simple – beautifully designed, and easy to use and understand. The sock itself is very soft and comfortable for her – I thought she would just pull it off like she does her socks, but it stays on her foot all night and doesn’t leave any marks.

As a second time mum, there are a million things I would tell a first-time mum that she actually doesn’t need to buy and is a waste of money – however, the Owlet Smart Sock 3 is something I would, hand on heart, tell you is an essential for your baby registry. You won’t regret it!
